I love it. This people have the best ribs in town by far. They have "Dry Rub Ribs", not boiled, made the way they should be done, slowly smoke oven cooked. The price is bit over the regular BBQ ribs, but taste is a lot better, I guess one thing compensates the price. I would rate them as good, since I believe they could do a bit better with what they have. more

Worst food ever never go there more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 11/18/2011

I ate once at the Sunrise Blvd location...the food here tastes identical. Great BBQ sauce, plus I liked the collard greens. The service was disorganized and inattentive, however. I placed a to-go order which was apparently forgotten. Then when the bill I was charged for an extra item I didn't order. Then had to track down someone to pay...then I got the wrong receipt, then a pen had to be tracked down for the signature. This inattention clouded my impression of Texas Hold 'Em BBQ. They are located in a very good location, but the night I visited there was one table occupied plus a number of people at the bar. I hope they get their act together as the fundamentals are there. more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I have been to Texas Hold Em twice and was very satisfied. The restaurant is very clean. Service was exceptionally warm and friendly. The BBQ sauce is really good. Smoky, spicy and sweet. I enjoyed the All In One sandwich for $7.25 today. The food was fresh and delicious, including the iced tea. Great value and an enjoyable experience. more

This place is gross! The service is awful the food nasty. I don't even know how they are still in business. \r My husband and I were in the mood for some BBQ and are fail safe BBQ place was closed so we decided to give Texas Hold' Em a shot. Bad idea! Let preference this by stating we were 2 of the 4 patrons in the restaurant that night. After waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged, our drink order was taking by some stoner. By the time he meandered his way back to our table with our water and ice tea we had contemplated leaving twice but decided to stay b/c we were hungry and had already invested about 30 minutes of our time. My husband ordered a beef sandwich and I had a pork sandwich. Once again we waited an exorbitant amount of time. After a good 30-40 minutes our food was plopped down our table and our "server" scurried away w/o saying a word. Let me remind you they were NOT busy there we two servers, a bartender and some cooks in the back for all 4 customers in the restaurant. Anyway I took a bite out of my much anticipated food only to find that I had literally been served a fat sandwich. Really I couldn't find one piece of pork meat in the entire sandwich, it was completely fat and grizzle. My husbands sandwich was mediocre but my was inedible. I flagged down the "waiter" who asked if there was a problem with my order and I proceeded to show him the copious amounts of fat and grizzle sitting on the bun, to which he replied, " oh, I'm sorry you didn't like it" and walked away. There was no offer to get me something else, there was no offering to remove it from the bill, or any attempt to try to fix the problem. Shortly after he returned to the table and asked if I wanted a box. I was dumbfounded since I had just had a conversation with this person about being unable to eat the food I was served. Really? Do I really want a box for my FAT sandwich? This guy was clueless. We reluctantly paid our bill and left knowing this place wasn't going to be around form much longer. \r Don't waste your time or money on Texas Hold'em BBQ! more

Leave this short. Hands down the worst BBQ I've ever had. 33 years old, a chef and it took me this long to try the worst food ever. I ordered a pulled pork sandwhich. What I got were CHUNKS of fatty, gristle encrusted pieces of pork. Bland and nasty, straight up. Gross. Did not even take any more than two bites before throwing it away. Waste of time and money. The worst is all I have to say. Id rather eat at smokey bones. more

I LOVE BBQ I think more then most people and have found only 1 real BBQ house in fort lauderdale and that's tom Jenkins. so when I found out about Texas hold'em I was excited to try it. So I went on a saterday night when you would think they would be at there best. Oops I was so wrong. I got there and I would say there were 15 people tops and it's seat yourself so I sat at the bar and waited for 15 mins while there was only 1 waitress. Finally a bartender walked out of the back and took my order. And befor I could take 2 sips of my kinda cold beer my food showed up. Wow I thought that's fast service. But then I tryed to eat what I can only describe as old cold and flavorless food. The meat was well seasioned but very dry. When I pushed the plate aside after about 3 mins I was asked if I was done. I replyed yes and was never asked why and given the bill. All the while the manager was on the phone. So I will never advise anyone to eat at Texas hold'em. Ever..... more
