The atmosphere is good at this location and they have great appetizers. The cheesesteaks are so-so here... nothing authentic of course but I prefer philly cheesesteaks over this creation. more

The Best Cheese Steak Sandwich I've Ever Eaten 7/13/2010

I've been going to this place for years and I can say that they honestly have the best Cheese Steak Sandwiches that I have ever eaten! This small little restaurant is precariously sandwiched between a thai place and a jewlrey shop, but still looks attractive enough to stop into for a quick bite to eat. Their laid back restaurant style is nice when you aren't looking for a pushy restaurant service to get something to eat. Their sandwiches are cooked right there in front of you and with evey order, a pipping hot bowl of chips and chilli con queso is provided. I often pour the chilli con queso over the cheese steak before I eat it and wash it down with an Ice cold soda. If a sports game is on, I usually take my time and burn at least an hour in the relaxing environment. This place defnitely has the best cheese steak sandwich that I have ever eaten! Pros: Delicious, Inexpensive, University Discounts more

Great sandwiches! 7/10/2008

Cool atmosphere, good music, and Gustavo is a cool dude. Wish they had better salsa, but everything else is great. Pros: Consistently good food Cons: Found a long hair in my sandwich more

Good cheesesteak, quick and easy meal 10/26/2006

The Texadelphia sandwich shop in the village is a good place to stop in a pick up a cheesesteak to-go. There's no much seating inside. I went with the pizza steak with mushrooms. I enjoyed it, already I wasn't much of a fan of their marinara. The only reference I have to compare Texadelphia to is Philly Connection, and I'd say that are on par. If you're looking for a quick meal, but tired of the same boring sandwiches I'd recommend Texadelphia. Pros: Cheesesteak, take out, location Cons: Limited seating, parking more

great sandwiches! 8/21/2005

This place has great tasting sandwiches and a really big variety!! the service is fast, but the only drawback is the limited number of tables to eat at. Pros: variety of food, fast service, inexpensive Cons: limited seating, noisy, poor parking more

Just like Austin! 7/1/2003

This place has the best sandwiches! If you are looking for a cheesteak ooozing with cheesewhiz, this is not it. They have their own flavors here and they rock. Great location if you want a quieter atmosphere than the larger ones on Memorial or Westheimer. Pros: Cheese steaks!, Mustard blend sauce, Friendly atmosphere Cons: Small, hard to sit @ lunch more

Editorial

  • In Short
Patrons line up and order before sitting down at this Austin-based restaurant chain that dishes a twist on the Philly cheesesteak. The funky decor surrounding the wooden tables and booths is made up of U.T. and pop culture memorabilia. Sandwiches come with the choice of chicken or beef: The Texican includes grilled onions, mozzarella and sliced jalapenos, while the Hickory has cheddar and barbecue sauce. Customers can also build a sandwich to their liking.
