These people are scam artists. They portray themselves as helpful, and willing to backup their cars but only want to take your money and sell you junk. Don't even bother looking at their lot. These are the types of people that give car dealers a bad name. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/18/2012

There are plenty of places to buy a used car. If you buy from this dog killer and child abuser you deserve to burn in hell. What he did was not a ""mistake"". That's ridicuous. more

Decent prices on used cars 9/26/2011

I'd like to first start off by saying that the comments about what the owner did are downright obnoxious and have nothing to do with the business that he runs. Everyone makes mistakes and clearly he has been punished for them. Furthermore, who are you to judge this man on something you've only heard the media's portrayal of? ANYWAYS, I bought a car from this dealer and am happy with the decision i made. They had a good selection of older used cars, most of which were priced decently. There were a few cars that looked pretty beat up, but the prices were reflected and I think they were in good shape VS what other used car dealers in the area are selling. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from this dealer, and they said if i had any problems to bring the car in and see if they could fix it - FREE OF CHARGE. needless to say I've not had any problems and I think I got a pretty good deal. more

Dog Killer!! Dont buy from this guy! 5/13/2011

In 2009, Tessmer kicked the family's three-year-old labradoodle, Zorro so severely, the dog died the following day. At the time Tessmer's son was eleven-years-old, and his daughter was seven. Both children watched in horror. The situation came to the attention of the authorities when the son wrote in an afterschool childcare program, ""My dad is a killer""\r \r He should be in JAIL and had to pay fines as well as mandatory counseling for his kids. If he can do that to his dog....his kids are next. Utterly ridiculous! more

Please buy elsewhere!!! 5/10/2011

Avoid this business. Owner killed his family pet in front of his horrified children. more

Dog Murderer! Child Abuser 5/10/2011

Please don't buy a car from this man. He kicked his innocent family dog to death in front of his children as they begged him to stop. He kicked the dog over 10 times. His children will have to live with the images of this horrific crime at the hands of their father for the rest of their lives. I hope we can ban together and run this unwanted business owner out of town. more

Mike Tessmer Abuses dog to death, traumatizes kids 5/10/2011

Man who kicked dog to death gets work release jail \r By Mike Johnson of the Journal Sentinel \r\r \r May 9, 2011\r \r Waukesha - A 54-year-old Town of Oconomowoc man was sentenced Monday to 12 months in the county's work release jail for the 2009 death of his dog, which he repeatedly kicked while his children watched, and was placed on probation for three years for causing mental harm to a child.\r \r Many believed Michael H. Tessmer should have been sent to prison for such a deed, including Assistant District Attorney Michele W. Hulgaard. \r \r Hulgaard had asked Waukesha County Circuit Judge Kathleen B. Stilling to put Tessmer in prison for four years for causing mental harm to the children and place him on extended supervision for a total of eight years when released, including three years for the death of the dog.\r \r ""A dad is there to make their children feel protected. These children felt anything but protected when they saw what he had done to their animal,"" Hulgaard said.\r \r But Stilling said that while what Tessmer did to his dog and children was terrible, sending him to prison would be even worse for his son and daughter.\r \r ""I really feel that doing that would harm them financially, emotionally,"" said Stilling, who consulted with a court-appointed advocate for the children during the sentencing hearing.\r \r ""Would those children really be hurt by your being removed from them and having to visit you in prison? . . . I ultimately have concluded that that would be more harmful to them,"" Stilling told Tessmer before she announced her sentence.\r \r Tessmer, who owns Tessmer Auto Sales in Waukesha, was convicted by a jury in March of two felonies - causing mental harm to a child and mistreatment of animals, causing death in connection with the incident on Feb. 28, 2009. \r \r He was accused of kicking Zorro, a 3-year-old black labradoodle, 10 times after it defecated and urinated in the house while he and his children were out, according to trial testimony and the criminal complaint.\r \r Tessmer's then 11-year-old son and then 7-year-old daughter saw their father repeatedly kick Zorro, and the animal died the next day. \r \r The dog's death came to authorities' attention after the boy wrote on an afterschool child care program sheet that ""My dad is a killer.""\r \r Evidence showed the dog died from massive bleeding caused by blunt-force trauma.\r \r During the trial and again at Monday's sentencing hearing, Hulgaard said the boy suffered from anxiety, depression and withdrawal after Zorro's death. He had nightmares and flashbacks of the incident and could not sleep alone at night in the months after Zorro died, she said Monday.\r \r At the trial, Tessmer testified he never intended to kill the dog. He testified he kicked the dog only two or three times and did not intend to cause it excessive pain and suffering. \r \r Tessmer's attorney, Daniel Fay, asked the judge to sentence Tessmer to 60 days in jail. He said that Tessmer always accepted responsibility for what he did. But he also argued that Tessmer should have been charged with only a misdemeanor in connection with the dog's death. Had that occurred, Fay said Tessmer would have pleaded guilty, and there would have been no need for a trial in the case.\r \r Stilling withheld the sentence on the mental health charge conviction. It carries a 7 1/2 year prison term and opted for probation instead. However, if Tessmer fails to meet the terms of his probation, he could be sent to prison.\r \r Before he was sentenced, Tessmer apologized. ""I'm sorry for putting my kids through this. I never thought it would come to this. I'm sorry to my family. And I accept responsibility for what I've done. I don't want to be taken away from my kids. I don't think the kids want to be taken away from me. I do everything in my power to protect and take care of those kids,"" Tessmer said. ""What I did was not right. I'm ashamed of it.""\r \r more

BEWARE! Dog Killer and Child Abuser!!!!!!! 3/19/2011

Beware!!!! The man that owns this dealership kicked his sweet, innocent dog to DEATH IN FRONT OF HIS CHILDREN as they begged him to stop. The dog died of internal bleeding after being kicked over 10 times. Mike kicked this dog in the head and stomach with his big work boots. Please, please dont' support this evil man by shopping at his dealership!!!!! He is being charged with Animal Abuse leading to death and child abuse. He's also being charged with Bail Jumping because he couldn't man up and face a judge. Check him out on ccap. His name is Michael Tessmer. Very impressed 1/28/2011

Thank you Tessmer Auto Sales! I needed a car like ""yesterday"", and was able to get a reliable used car, right away. The customer service is top notch. I also like the fact that they have their own on site repair shop, if i ever need it - it's hard to find a trust-worthy and skilled mechanic ( especially for us females) I highly recommend this place if your looking for a good used car! more

Tessmer Auto sales sells faulty cars, big rip off 5/18/2007

A close friend of mine bought a car there and it was a very nice cadillac, they owned it for about a month and a half. And then they had taken it for a ride and the engine had fallen out, they also had prior problems, a leaking gasoline line and engine starting problems. The seller said the car had no problems and all and showed no problems according to all documents. I Strongly recommend NO ONE buys cars from this dealer. more
