Tuesday Fajita Special 6/14/2009

I had a ""gift certificate"" from in hand when we went last Tuesday, but we've saved it until we go back - which we more assuredly will - because the fajitas were on sale. Good margaritas, nice and tasty wine with generous pours, yummy tortillas and very nicely done fajitas. Service was prompt and pleasant. Pros: Half price fajitas more

good, solid Tex-Mex 5/25/2008

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and it is our favorite local tex-mex place. Pros: good food, drinks and bar Cons: can get a little crowded more

poor service & waitstaff with an attitude 9/21/2007

I was looking forward to a reunion with my friends and thought that this would be a good place to meet. Little did we know that we would be treated so rudely! First we were told that happy hour drink prices were only available at the bar and in certain areas of the restaurant. The extremely rude waiter at our table would not hand us menus to order food from or even bring us glasses of water after we asked for them. After literally begging our waiter for the menus, I placed my order and the waiter told me he needed his menu back immediately and refused to allow me to hand it to another member of our party so that she could place her order. After a long wait, the food we received was bland and partially cold. After experiencing further rude behavior from the waitstaff, our party decided to leave. After requesting our bill at least 3 times, we had to wait another hour and a half before he rudely brought it to our table. After paying, and leaing a generous tip, another member of the waitstaff came out and rudely told us that we had left money on the table and handed us another bill with a dollar inside. When I returned the folder to all of the waitstaff standing around the hostess stand, I was told to get out and that I was never to return to the restaurant again. I think the owner needs to rethink the caliber of staff working for him both in the kitchen and as waiters. Incidentally, since our table made up the majority of patrons in the place, I think this speaks volumes why customers are not willing to face the same rude, ill mannered personnel we did that act as the ambassadors of this establishment. Pros: parking Cons: waitstaff, food, restricted seating for happy hour prices more

I have never been so insulted.... 9/20/2007

Always looking for a new hangout for our monthly ""reunion"", myself and 8 classmates were looking forward to our evening at Terlingua this evening. Our waiter began our evening by telling us that we were not able to order happy hour drinks at the table that we were sitting at so, even though there were to be 8+ of us, we moved to one of their round tables with barstools vs. the long table we originally sat at. Once here, we had to go out of our way to ask him to now take our drink orders. Once our group showed up and we ordered appitizers, we had no choice but to move to a larger table and to walk to the bar since we did not qualify for the happy hour drinks due to our sittng at the table again. With each trip to the bar came evil looks by our waitier as he leaned against a counter. Our service continued to extremely poor, with one of us having to ask for the ticket three times before receiving it. I personally went up to our waiter to ask him to take my portion off the ticket and the remainng members of our party putting their money in all together. more

The food is good. Service needs a little improvement. The margaritas are worth the trip!!!!! We will go again! more

Worse service ever.. 2/2/2007

I went to this restaurant with 2 friends and we chose to sit outside. We experienced terrible service - it took ages to get a drink refill and we went to fetch the bill because it took so long! This was after one friend asked for a blue cheese&bacon steak and it came without the blue cheese or the bacon! When he pointed this out - the server returned with a side dish of ranch dressing and no offer to bring a new steak or the bacon! I won't go back unless I hear that the service has improved - even though the food that came (!) was good enough. Pros: Average food, nice interior decor Cons: Service, balcony on a parking lot more

pretty much delicious all around 1/12/2007

All I have to say is that place is amazing. The service is great, the quality of their food is very good, and it is a very fun place to hang out at overall. If your looking for a night to hang out with all your frinds bring them here you won't regret it, and if you are just looking for a nice date place perfect for that occasion also. I highly recommend branching out and trying the fabulous place. Pros: great everything Cons: its really addicting more

Overpriced, Slow and Bland..... not a good experience 12/2/2006

I had really wanted to like this place because it is so close to my apartment... Yes, I had envisioned being able to walk home if I were to make this my new hangout and have a few drinks..... Not gonna happen!..... - Got there and asked for a nice table outside, which was empty.... after 7-8 min wait the hostess asked if we wanted to just sit inside somewhere... when we asked why she said that the waiter who was working at that time was handling tables inside and that it would be difficult for him to keep and eye on us if we were outside..... WTF!!!.... - Okay, so we sat inside, which was FREEZING cold... When we asked why it was so cold the waiter said that the manager liked to keep it that way.... Even though it was chilly outside, it was still warmer than the icebox dining room..... Drinks took about 12-15 mins, and the wait was not worth it.... Low-grade tequila and cheap tequila mix - though all for a premium price!... Guess they grasp the concept that there is a midtown/montrose schtucker wannabe born every minute.... - Had to ask twice for chips & salsa - When the entrees arrived, they were someone elses... When they didn't taste like what we ordered we told the waiter and he took them away, and a few minutes later brought what we ordered..... ICE COLD!.... Even colder than the temperature in the restaurant..... Food was pasable at best... I've had better at Taco Bell and Taco Cabana for about 1/10th the price.... So though I really wanted to like this place, I have to give it the big thumbs down... Nothing positive to say about it..... Save your time and money on this dog Pros: Location Cons: Freezing dining room temperature, Terrible service, Overpriced food and drinks more

Really good service 10/19/2006

My boyfriend and I ate at Terlingue at 7:00p.m. on a Friday night. The place was crowded, but we were still seated right away. Our waitress was really sweet, the manager stopped by to make sure everything was good, and our food came out really fast. And it was really good! more

Great food, great margaritas 9/27/2006

The food was much better than I expected. The service was also really good, with the waitress being very nice and attentive. They serve two salsa dips with a bag of chips, which were very good also. The outside seating area is very nice. It's also nice to have a wide selection of different types of food. more

Good Happy Hour, yummy food! 8/24/2006

Since I live next door to the restaurant, my husband and I eat here quite a bit. The food and service had really gone downhill, so we avoided it, but then I think they changed managment because the food has gotten so much better and the service is great! We go at least once a week now-the nachos are yum, the fajitas are good-brunch is also fun with $10 pitchers of Mimosas! So far everything I've eaten here has been really good-salsa is fresh and delicious too. Food is served quickly-bartenders and waiters are nice-not too expensive either. Pros: Good Happy Hour, great food, nice staff more

Don't waste your time or money 3/2/2006

I had a bad experience the first time I spent money at this restaurant, and I made the mistake of giving them a second chance. Both times, it took our waiter 15 minutes to find our table and take our drink order. The second time I had to physically get up, interrupt the waiters from watching a football game at the bar to get our drinks. The service here is simpy horrible. The food is mediocre and the drinks are about the only thing the restaurant has going. Don't waste your time or your money - I know I won't. Pros: Drinks Cons: Service, Food more

Delicious! 1/10/2006

You must eat here! The fajita nachos are to die for! The salsa is awesome. Chips are always warm. You'll love it! Pros: great salsa, great food, great atmosphere more

Delicious! 11/3/2005

My co-workers and I frequent this place for lunch at least once per week. We absolutely love it! The food is great. You must try the fajita meat! more

Great treat! 5/4/2005

We live nearby, walking distance, and thought we'd try it out. They really do have great food. Part of the Cyclone Analya's family I think. Their beef fajita meat is worth the trip. They even have ribs and mac & cheese! They have great specialty margaritas to try with almond tequila. It's not fancy, but a nice outside patio and we think it's great and are definitely going tonite for Cinco de Mayo!!! A great place especially if you live close by!!! Pros: Great food, Great margaritas, Near home Cons: ?? more
