My name is Kate Jones and I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2010. I'm a graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts. In addition to being a massage therapist, I am also a level II Reiki practitioner and have studied Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Polarity. My goal as a therapist is to work with you to create a massage session that will meet your current needs, whether your goal is to just relax, to increase your feeling of wellbeing, or to manage chronic pain or injury. I believe that you are the expert when it comes to what your body needs. My job as a therapist is to assist you in your healing journey. My style of massage is a blend of Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage. I may incorporate Reiki, Aromatherapy, Reflexology or Polarity into the sessions, depending on the needs and desires of the client.. **Aromatherapy **- The use of plant based essential oils to achieve a desired effect on the body, such as relaxation or headache relief. **Deep Tissue Massage** - Massage designed to soften the fascia and affect the deep tissues as well as the more superficial ones. It may include cross fiber friction, pin and stretch, myofascial release or ischemic compression. It does not necessarily mean "hard pressure." **Medical Massage** - Massage that works only on a specific part of the body that has been injured, usually due to a Motor Vehicle Accident. Medical massage requires a doctor's prescription. Sessions are booked in 15 minute increments. It includes thorough assessment and charting as well as consultation on the therapist's part with the prescribing doctor. **Polarity** - A natural healthcare system that works with the Human Energy Field to help balance body, mind and spirit and to support overall wellbeing. **Reflexology** - The use of pressure on specific spots on the feet to encourage healing in other parts of the body. **Reiki **- A Japenese form of energy work that promotes healing, relaxation and stress relief. It can be done in conjunction with the massage or on its own as a separate session. As a separate session,it is done while the client is clothed. The therapist uses a series of hand placements lightly touching or slightly above the body. **Swedish Massage** - a form of massage that uses long, gliding strokes in the direction of the heart to increase circulation and promote relaxation and wellbeing. It may also incorporate petrissage, tapotement or stretching.
