My 81 year old husband went down to test drive a 2010 VW wagon. Within 3 hours he had paid over $30,000 for a car that started with a MSRP of $23,100. He paid with a check that they immediately cashed!
Be warned, in California there is no 3 day or any cooling off period and no consumer protection laws for automobile buyers. You can easily verify this by looking it up on the internet.
This Team VW company is rated with an F by BBB, they also have over 15 complaints at the BBB site.
Don't even put foot inside their car lot because they are REALLY good at deception. Two or three brothers operate the place and they stick together. They are nice looking guys (from some middle East country?) who speak English very well and look you straight in the eyes as they tell you whatever they think will get you to buy.
And they tell unecessary lies, like, "" the new Hayward COSTCO sells diesel gas"" (it doesn't) and ""you can buy diesel gas at any major gas station off any interstate highway"" (simply not true) And, ""in 3 or 4 years you can sell this car and get more than you paid for it because these kind of cars go up in value"" (now that lie really is ridiculous--but they said it).
Volkswagons are good cars but this dealership is not--also check before buying because I believe they also operate a dealership out of San Francisco
Pros: They are friendly. They are smooth talking. They are convincing. Then you figure out you've been had
Cons: They will lie, cheat you and not respond to calls
