Best

I think that the Tea Lounge is excellent for working and having a snack. You walk in and it's practically the epitome of tranquility. I love it. The only negative is that the band...

Worst

Tea Lounge is great in some areas and AWFUL in others. It's great because....it's convenient. Location, location, location. It's easy to get to via the Q, 2/3 or R train. And,...

Tea Lounge 5/18/2006

Home to mommies and aimless hippies (can you tell where my loyalties are?), this is a great spot to just plain chill. There's tea too. Laze the afternoon away enjoying a steaming pot pf your favorite brew. The salads and sandwiches are passable. Don't come here to eat though. The idea is to meet up with friends chat and relax on the plush and well-worn sofas. Bring a laptop if you like, but it's too noisy to get serious work done. more

A Cozy Cafe That Has Some Special Cocoa 1/16/2006

Comfy couches and delicious drinks is what makes the Tea Lounge so amazing. Settle into one of the pieces of furniture and listen to some live music while you sip your tea or coffee. If you opt for hot chocolate you're in for an even bigger treat since the Tea Lounge's is absolutely fantastic. And, for a little bit extra, you can spike that delicious warm cocoa with some Baileys, Frangelico, and Jameson. Of course, I hope that's not how you plan to start your day.. more

Wish It Were Quieter 11/17/2005

This would be a great place if it weren't so loud and crowded all the time. It feels like a comfy living room, in a house with WAY too many house guests. more

The other location is better 9/23/2005

This one is newer, the decorating feels very planned and if you go there before 7 pm, you'd better like kids and strollers. Or rather, not being able to move because of strollers and having kids in organic cotton jumpers wipe their organic cookie crumbs on you. Sometimes I go there and it feels like madness. It doesn't feel intimate at all and the coffee is kind of overpriced. Don't get the chai, it's gross. I do like the vanilla steamer as a coffee alternative. Free wireless internet is nice. more

A great local spot to meet 'n greet 8/17/2005

Go for a drink, a cup of coffee, or just to listen to their occasional live music, but you must go visit, if you’ve never been. It’s a great neighborhood spot to meet up with friends, or bring your laptop for a long study session. Atmosphere is comfy, people are friendly, and it’s centrally located. more
