Dr Rob Dana, Best in Town 10/9/2011

Good: Attention to details. Complete explanations with pics, if appropriate. Research your animals problem, if necessary. Medical and everyday explainations. Won't go to extreme measures/treatments until all other avenues are pursued. Undertands your objectives, but gives you the best-to-his-knowledge facts. Relates to you as a professional and friend. Takes whatever times is required to help with your problem. Genuine caring for your animals.. Bad: Sometimes the wait is a little long, probably because of Dr Dana's complete look and listen to your issue, but it is worth it and allows you to practice some 'manner' training with your canine.. Improvements: Don't give Dr Dana a day off !. Other: Started with Dr Rob Dana when we arrived here in 1990 from Guam with our very large Pit Bull. Dr Dana had just finished Vet School & worked at a clinic on the East side of town. My husband & I were so very impressed with Dr Dana's attitude, knowledge & caring for our dog(s) that when he moved to Taylor Ranch, we drive over to the West side to have him to still care for our two dogs & a bird. He doesn't mind consulting his peers if he needs to research your issue. Straight talker! I hate it when he is off. more

Best I've ever seen!! 4/5/2011

Being raised on a ranch I've dealt with many Vets in my lifetime. I can safely say Dr. Dana is the best I've ever seen. His first concern is the pets safety, comfort and health.(not the money he will make) He will not recommend tests, procedures or medications unless they are absolutely necessary. He has been my vet for 14 years, and will continue to be for the rest of my life. His level of knowledge and compassion is far superior to any I've experienced. Sydnie more

been our vet for years 1/12/2009

Dr Dana is wonderful. He first worked at another clinic in town, and of the four or five vets that worked there, he was the only one I liked, and we followed him to his new clinic. In the more than ten years we've had him for our vet, he has only taken one pet to the back for a procedure once. Having worked for a vet, it is quite normal to take animals out of sight for certain procedures because pets fight back, and most owners don't like to see the fight. The animal may have to be positioned a certain way, and you can't explain to the pet why it has to be in such a vulnerable/uncomfortable position. It's distressing to both pet and owner. Spring of 2007, my cat died suddenly, Dr Dana spent time talking to me about what happened and seemed genuinely sorry for my distress. My father went to several vets before seeing Dr Dana at my suggestion. He loves Dr Dana as well. Dr Dana was willing to work with my dad regarding long term allergy problems his dog was having until they finally found a solution. He would talk on the phone with my father which avoided visit fees. He provided us a prescription to take to Petsmart so we could pick up our prescription cat food there - which is far more convenient. In ten years, he has only been late for one appointment and that was due to an emergency. Also, Dr Dana doesn't see the need for extended tests until they are truly necessary, doesn't pressure you into other services (like dentistry), and recommends alternative options when they are available. He's a practical, no-nonsense, realistic vet who understands that not everyone has all the money and time in the world. more

Highly recommended 11/14/2008

I have 4 dogs and had to have 2 of them seen by Doctor Dana. When I entered the observation rooms I noticed that there were no tables that your pet would normally go on. When Doctor Dana came in it was obvious why there were no tables because he got down on the ground with my pets and looked at them and talked with them and myself. His passion for the care and tretment of animals is second to none and are in keeping with the highest standards that he has set for his peers to follow. He is truly a leader more

My experience 12/13/2006

I visited this clinic today for the first time and was so impressed with my experience. I have 3 dogs and am very picky about who sees them. Dr. Dana was the most phenomenal vet that I have ever been to. He was kind and compassionate and took so much time talking to me and explaining things. I would highly recommend this clinic. more
