Greasy but good, had to wait 10 minutes just to order but it was worth the wait. This isn't a kid friendly place, best to grab it to go.

Best Philly Cheese Steak in Seattle 12/23/2011

They have great sandwiches and cheese steaks. This place would do good back east in Philly or NY so having it in Seattle is a blessing. It does get crowded at lunch hour, and not a great atmosphere to sit in and eat. Get it to go and eat at home or park nearby. more

I've got a soft spot for the Italian 3/23/2009

I need to branch out, but there's something about the quality of the meats, the way the sandwich is put together and the sweet & hot peppers. That sandwich puts Jimmy John's (good) Vito to shame. more

Stuck on the Tatstrami 12/3/2005

I usually try to order everything on a menu (over a course of several visits, of course), but I have been stuck to the Tatstrami (pastrami, special sauce, and coleslaw on a freshly-baked-tasting bun). This is indeed an excellent lunch joint ( I think they're only open on weekdays). The line goes clear out the door so order early or after the lunch crowd. I have tasted my husband's Philly cheese steak and that has been really tasty, too. This is a very small dive (10 tables, I think), and it's pretty dark and feels like a storeroom of a warehouse, but I'm really just there for the food. more

Amazing Sandwiches! 9/13/2005

Myriad tasty Philly and Jersey sandwiches on great bread. Not totally sold on their cheesesteaks, but their chicken parm and spicy crispy chicken sandwiches are amazing, as is their cold, house-roasted beef. I'm looking forward to trying their reuben and tatstrami. more

Best subs in Seattle 9/7/2005

These two guys from Philly/South Jersey know their stuff. They make very traditional east coast hoagies that may not be as healthy as a turkey and gruyere from essential bakery, but taste a heck of a lot better. The fact that they're pretty pricey doesn't keep me from going there once a week. My two favorites are their two namesakes: the Tatstrami and the Tat's Grinder. Ironically, one of the few subs that doesn't blow me away is their Philly cheesesteak, even if it is wit wiz. Almost zero options for veggies. more
