For those who complain about Tassi's you might want to think about it before you run-off and buy a junker and expect them to fix it in a day.\r more

Okay, Tassi's is the best for parts!!! cheap as can be, better than internet with wholesale. their staff is friendly with the owner being the janitor(he's in charge of mopping) but bruce(owner) is always running around like a chicken with his head cut off.\r more

Bruce is not a burn artist. He will never overcharge a customer, and if you're having money issues, he will go out of his way to work with you\r more

They did a bunch of service for me that I was satisfied with in regards to price, its more than you can ask for or your car can ask an expert to do.\r more

I love Tassi. These guys are experts. They do great work. They are a Bay area gem for the VW lover.\r more

Being around the shop at Tassi's is like being inside the mind of the VW itself. These guys KNOW how to procure, build and/or fix everything a VW owner needs and they don't waste time doing the stupid stuff you can do yourself. That's why they give such a great deal! Plus they are super kind.\r more

I have been taking my car's to Tassi's for about 7 yrs now and let me tell you that they have been nothing but courteous to me, alway 's fair in price, and helpful in teaching me what signs to look for in my car in case of an emergency, so the place doesn't look like the dealer would but that's the charm of tassi's, Bruce has been in business for along time so he must be doing something right (think about it), the staff is great! and sure i had to take my car back once or twice after picking it up but lets be realistic about the situation. So you take the car back and have them look at again what's the big deal? every time i had to do that they were always willing to look at it right away, and that's in seven years and two different car's! so maybe your not maintaining the car like you should?? anyway, i highly recommend you take your car's to tassi's there fair in price and always nice.\r more

""All repairs to our home have been completed per subject claim numbers. I have sent a personal check to DRS for \r payment in full for the water extraction and drying. I have also endorsed the two checks that AAA sent to ESN for both \r claims and signed the completion certificates as of Wednesday, 15 August. Both DRS and ESN did excellent repair work \r and we’re very satisfied with the results. Thanks to you for your quick and timely response that made it possible to \r restore our home back to normal expeditiously. Fantastic shop! On a huge road trip and currently held up... ""pit stop""with our bus. Came for a couple of small things and in addition to my parts being on hand I received a heap of help for my install! Great guys super friendly and helpful. Been to a lot of shops in the country and this is a good one! cheers!\r more

Being a lover of vintage VW classics is not always easy, it takes character and patience to maintain these vehicles because you can't always buy new parts. These guys do everything they can to make sure you are happy with your vehicle. more

Do Not go // Please read below 4/2/2010

I have been a client of Tassi fo the last 12 months\r We have 3 cars, 1 WW and 2 Audis.\r We have spent more than $8k as I have found out that their mechanics are good.\r That said, my last experience was worst that I could have ever imagined.\r On my way to pick up the car, I have signed my last check ($200) and have asked Duncan (reception guy)what I believe was a reasonable request : to do a 360 on the car, knowing that I have spent more than $3k in the last 4 weeks (on 3 cars). Duncan told me they do not provide this service unless it was specifically asked by the client.\r Then we have started to argue, finally he gave me 5 seconds to leave ""his"" shop otherwise...\r Basiccaly he was physically threatened me and my ....2 years old son.\r So I took the key and asked for my car...\r ...That I could not find...So my son and I had to wait/walk UNDER the RAIN for more than 5 long min to finally find it with the help of the 2 mechanics guys (200 yards away)......\r \r No comment. I just hope this experience will never happen again to any of their client. Pros: Good mechanics Cons: They fire you, They threaten you and worst... more

Lackluster work, Charged for parts not installed. 5/8/2008

I have taken my car to Tassi several times, and ALWAYS had to return because something was not done, or not done right. I attributed this to their friendly, relaxed ethic. Inconvenient, but not unforgivable. They are friendly and the only place in town that really works on old VWs. Pros: They're nice... while they're taking your money. Cons: Found them to be more and more shoddy as time went on culminating in false charges. more

Nice people but unfortunately not very good mechanics. I took my Corrado there to diagnose poor engine performance, a battery drain, and an oil leak. more

best avoided 1/15/2007

5/06 i brought my vw beetle to tassi's for a tuneup and a clutch adjustment (on a new clutch) and it was reported that the car needed another new clutch...why, if a new clutch was just installed, i asked...perhaps it was a faulty clutch was the answer...so in went another new clutch ...by 6/15 the car developed a major clutch chatter so back i went and it was determined more clutch work/ parts were necessary...back on 6/22 w/ still the same symptoms, and more clutch work/parts AGAIN it was determined were necessary....within a month and a half total charges were a shy 1000.00...bills parts lists indicate cross shaft replaced twice, in addition to all other related new clutch parts...8/06 clutch cable snaps....12/06 clutch goes again altogether...not even 3000 miles since clutch was replaced...tassi's response when asked if the clutch was under warranty...tow it here and lemme see it...gotta make sure you weren't an abusive driver on those hills in sf...these guys in my experience are mechanics who would best be avoided... Pros: located close to bart... Cons: poor service, questionable work, expensive unsatisfactory results... more

They don't try to rip women off 2/2/2006

I love Tassi. Not only is it next door to BART (great for when you drop off your car), but they are really very friendly and not at all salesy. The prices are really great. And they don't talk down to women or try to make you feel dumb. I've never walked (or driven) away from there feeling ripped off. I've been going to them for a few years now. I have a 1960 beetle, and they keep it running. A couple of times I drove off and they didn't really fix everything they said they would, but I drove it right back, they apologized and then fixed it on the house. So they are a little bit scattered, extremely busy, but always very honest and super nice. I highly recommend Tassi! Pros: Affordable, Unpretentious, Convenient Cons: Swamped, A Bit Chaotic more

User review by kmavid 12/9/2005

these guys do a good job, and are entertaining to talk to, but the follow up was a little dicey. I had to call back several times to find out when my car would be done - they were swamped though. Shop is only a couple of blocks form the Colma BART station. I'll be back. Pros: good quality, knowledgable Cons: disorganized more

Very Good Overall 4/11/2005

Tassi has very good prices for their services and the guys who work there are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The one negative is that I had to return to Tassi so they could fix a problem THEY had caused and was made to pay for it. But they do know what they are doing when it comes to Volkswagens so if I have another problem I will go back. Pros: Great Prices, Smart Staff Cons: Bad Policies more
