Admittedly, the Taj doesn't look like much tucked away in a strip mall between the Piano Bar and Guitar Center, but don't let that dissuade you. I've travelled around the entire U.S., eaten at some of the finest restaurants in America, and have yet to find a place like the Taj. The lamb tiki masala is AMAZING. The lamb is tender, the sauce is sweet, not that spicey, and comes with a generous helping of great, well-cooked rice. Get it with some chicken pakora and nan. The nan is out of this world. A far cry from Ahmad's Mission tortillas. Me and some friends get to the Taj once a week and it has never disappointed. The reason it didn't get a nine from me is the soup. The soup is terrible. Too much curry spice and it tastes like lighter fluid.
Pros: Excellent authentic Indian food
Cons: Atmosphere is bleak; cafeteria-like and cold in the winter
