Editorial review from Citysearch 10/27/2013

I would not recommend this place to take your dog for daycare. I thought at first i was very happy.felt good about the answers and everything around the store. I asked the big guy Lauren about grooming my boy and he told me about grooming by dames.later on i find out that they had a groomer there and he led me to his friend or maybe they were more not sure. both thoughts on tailwaggers and dames are vey bad and i am very upset right now. I got back and I saw Lauren swinging up his hand at a dog hope it wasent mine and heard them laughing at the dogs rubbing their eyes with somethig they have sprayed. Looked like it hurt them by burning them. I would be ashamed for the owner of this business. got nothing but lies. shame on those people. more

WOULD RECOMMEND GROOMING OVER PETSMART'S 5/24/2012

as previously stated, this business does not sell puppies or animals of any kind. they are a pet food, dog training and boarding and pet grooming store ONLY. I took my st. bernard there to be shaved down for the summer and was pleasently surprised on how great of a job she did! he looked fantastic! i normally take him to petsmart, but decided to take him to tail waggers on the recommendation from a friend. i did ask her a few questions before she began to work on him. i asked if she washed him first, then shaved him or vise versa? seems like a stupid question and she kinda gave me that look like it was....but, at petsmart they gave him a hair cut AFTER a bath which left all sorts of hair behind and in my car! and i asked if the grooming package came with a nail trim and ear cleaning, it does. though i don't believe they trimmed his nails as low as petsmart does which is maybe good, maybe bad? i don't want them so short that they are grinding into his nail bed, but longer nails rip holes into my couch. she assured me that she was properly trained in grooming and even did a 4 month internship with the owner before she was even offered the postion of groomer. another plus is tail waggers does not require paperwork to show current vaccinations on your dog. my dog's shots were ONE day expired and petsmart would not take him in eventhough i have taken him there a million times before and his vet is the banfield inside petsmart right next to the groomers and i had set up an appointment to get his shots renewed right then and there. 2 down sides to tail waggers grooming: #1- the room looks like a kennel. since i had adopted my st. bernard from the humane society, he remembered being in that kennel and was very anxious to go in and get groomed at tail waggers. (he is fine being groomed every where else.) it literally took 2 people to push him in there. i don't like putting my doggie through that :( #2 downside: there was no paperwork stating exactly which services would be performed and how much it would cost. i expected around $80 for a bath and a shave and it ended up costing $110 w/ tip. i am decently ok with that, just wish i would have known ahead of time and i guess it was my bad that i didn't ask that upfront. more

Tailwaggers does NOT sell animals - a history of the store: 11/13/2009

This store was first owned by AKC judge and Golden Retriever breeder Bill Lauderdale. It was called the Pet Spot over 10 years ago, and in a different location down the street. Then Bill renamed the store Tailwaggers, and bought a much larger location to have indoor training space. That location is still the store's home today. About 4 years ago, Bill moved out of state and sold the store to a Fort Collins businessman, Brad (I will leave the last name anonymous), and he has kept it going strong. The confusing part (and the reason why this store may come up with violations in public records) is that after the business name was changed, a store by the name of The Pet Spot moved into town to sell sick puppies to residents at grossly inflated prices. (They changed their name to Pet City several years later.) I've known several people who have bought puppies that have died from the store, and many more who have spent hundreds on sick ones. Pet City also states that they don't buy from mills, but either refuse to give out breeder information or give out invalid phone numbers, addresses, etc. when asked. They are located about a mile from Tailwaggers but have nothing to do with them. The store boasts a doggie daycare, decent-sized indoor training area, expansive selection of natural and organic cat & dog treats and foods, as well as toys, supplements, and other supplies. Many can not be found in big box stores. TW offers puppy, dog, advanced, agility, rally, and conformation training classes taught by experienced and adaptable trainers. The staff has historically been trained on dog nutrition and can assist customers beyond just showing them the ingredient label. Their hours, as well as the training class schedule, are accommodating. No animals are sold at TW, and the store regularly holds mobile adoptions through local rescue groups. If you have any questions or doubt any of this information, feel free to confirm by calling one of the businesses: Pet City: (970) 351-7387 Tailwaggers: (970) 353-3736 Pros: Great selection, knowledgeable staff, no by-products more

This store does not sell ANY ANIMALS ever. . 10/30/2009

This store is absolutely fantastic, and is certainly not a place that supports puppy mills, or any stores that purchase dogs from puppy mills. Many people confuse this RETAIL STORE with another pet store in Greeley by the name of Pet Spot. Please get your facts straight and not bash a wonderful community supporting store. You will never see a pet being sold out of Tailwaggers! They have a vast selection of dog and cat food, treats, toys, grooming supplies, training supplies, leashes collars, and much, much, MUCH more. They also have a full service groomer; self serve baths, training classes, doggie daycare, and extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. They also have some of the most competitive prices in the state and one of the only stores that carries several high quality brands in Northern Colorado. Pros: Huge Selection, Great layout, Full service groomer and more! Cons: None! more

Best Pet Supply Store in Greeley 12/18/2008

This is the best pet supply store in town. The previous posters must have them mixed up with another business. Tailwaggers does not sell puppies. They only sell supplies and have doggy day care. It is really sad that people would slander a GREAT business in such a way. Pros: Great Supplies, they DO NOT sell pets Cons: none, great place to shop. more

Extremely SICK Bulldog 12/16/2008

Just got an email from a friend of mine that her stepdaughter came home for Christmas with her new Bulldog puppy purchased from the Pet Spot. The puppy is currently in an Oxygen Chamber at the University of Saskatoon Vet hospital. My stepdaughter lives in Colorado, but we live in Canada, thats why he is where he is. Pros: there are NO pro's in supporting puppymills & backyard breeders Cons: Promotes Puppymills & Backyard breeders that only breed to profit more

don't shop here 10/26/2008

Please don't shop here. These animals come from a puppy mill. Buying a cute puppy from a pet store ensures the mom's will continully be breed to death. Your chances of getting a cute puppy that has lots of medical problems is high. Call the Dept of Agriculture to find out the number and kinds of complaints filed against this store. Reputable breeders NEVER sell to pet stores. Cons: cruelty more
