HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 9/21/2011

I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF SWISS BEFORE I COULD REMEMBER... THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! FROM THE WORKERS TO THE OWNER... ESPECIALLY HIS WIFE! LOVE THE CAKES, BUT THEY HAVE FALLEN COMPLETELY OFF OVER THE PAST YEARS. PRE KATRINA, I WOULD'VE RECOMMENDED THEM TO THE WORLD... BUT NOW I WOULDN'T EAT A PIECE OF THEIR CAKE IF THEY OFFERED IT TO ME FOR FREE. I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MORE OF MY MONEY! AND PLEASE BELIEVE THEY DON'T CARE, BECAUSE WHEN TOLD THIS, THE OWNER'S WIFE JUST SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS... BUT I GUESS YOU CAN HAVE THAT TYPE OF ATTITUDE WHEN YOU OWN THE BUSINESS... P.S. This company needs to update soooo much... from accepting credit cards to the design of their cakes. Nowadays ANYONE knows how to make an almond flavored cake. Great Flavor Leaves a Bad Taste in my Mouth 6/20/2011

I used to love coming here for the killer cakes - I know their prices are ridiculous, but it was tradition. What frosted me (no pun intended) was the attitude of the staff working there. In this economy, if you have that horrible of customer service, do not expect to be in business much longer. I love their goodies, but the prevailing attitudes really takes the cake. more

Great Cake 6/2/2011

My daughter called me the day of her birthday.She ask did i get her a cake from swiss. I told her no. You have to order cakes in advance because they make them to order. She was really upset and hung the phone up in my face. When my daughter got home from work she smell the cake when she walked through the door that was part of her gift. Swiss cakes melts in your mouth and they are always fresh .I love swiss cake it melts like cotton candy in your mouth more

Choose Another Bakery!!!!!! 4/1/2011

Until Feb. 2011 my family and I have always gotten our cakes from Swiss. They misspelled my daughter's name on her birthday cake, after I told them how to spell it more than three times during the phone order. They corrected it with a shaky hand, totally ruining the appearance of the cake. The only thing that the associate could tell me was that he was sorry. I paid $70 for a cake that looked like I may have gotten it on a clearance sale. I asked for the owner's name and number. I was told that he/she would not speak to me, concerning the matter. I can't believe they are selling $70 birthday cakes, and will not entertain their unhappy patrons. I will never purchase as much as a muffin from Swiss again!!!!! more

99 problems but Swiss Ain't One 12/13/2010

I have been purchasing cake from this bakery for years and I have never been unhappy with a cake. I agree that some of the ladies who work there have bad attitudes some days, but Mr. Bill is always pleasant. The cakes are a tradition in my family. sometimes I wish that they could do more up to date designs, but I still love the cakes. more

Idiot Bakery 5/27/2010

This is one of the few bakeries I loved in New Orleans until today. Isimply called and requested a small 9 inch round cake with pink icing with out decorations to have Happy Birhday written on top in a diffrent color. WOW is that really to much this guy went on and on about this is a first and so forth and so on. You know what step your game up Swiss you problem is your to old fashioned simply put. more

Forgot to decorate wedding cake 3/7/2010

Ordered a wedding cake with them. Overlooked the very unprofessional staff for a traditional New Orleans icon cake. Arrived at reception to stare at a wedding cake iced white with nothing else. Awful Attitudes, Awesome Cakes 8/27/2009

Just not friendly especially lady who may be owner. One guy who's been there is ok, but I bet pressured by owner (lady) who is unfriendly and unprofessional. Cakes are commendable because of taste no other has. I still go under crucial circumstances, very important events, but sometimes go elsewhere because of attitudes. I give a 4 for cakes, but not 5 because of unfriendliness. Pros: Commendable Tasting Cakes Cons: Not friendly, Not Professional more

I used Swiss for for my wedding cake and grooms cake. They were able to do exactly what i needed for the grooms cake (a sail boat) and my wedding cake was sooooo pretty! Also, the cake was baked that day and tasted so good that most guests had more than one piece! Pros: FRESH, GOOD LOOKING! more

Best cakes in town! 10/23/2008

I have had Swiss cakes for special occasions since I was a child. My wedding cake, my 25th Anniversary cake, my children's birthday cakes, graduation cakes, have all come from Swiss. I would not go anywhere else. When you bring the cake home it smells the whole house - we usually order a bigger size cake then needed, so we have left overs. Always fresh....can draw just about anything on the cake......and the poured icing I just had on our anniversary cake looked so elegent and tasted delicious. They will have my business for years to come - its a tradition in my family. Pros: Friendly and professional Cons: Not alot of parking, but the cakes are worth it. more

The BEST cakes around! 10/10/2008

Swiss definitely has the BEST cakes anywhere in the area. Yes, your choices on designs are limited, but I promise, the taste and quality of their cakes will more than make up for it. The people there are friendly and willing to work with each customer to make them happy. I would HIGHLY recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a cake for any occasion. Pros: Delicious cake, friendly people, great prices Cons: Parking (It's in downtown New Orleans after all) more

Swiss makes the best cakes ever. Half of my wedding attendees were from out of town. and the all raved about the cakes. They had never tasted cake as good as the Swiss cake. And people are still talking about them. I absolutely LOVE Swiss cakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

SOUR CAKE 8/22/2008

Be careful when considering Swiss for your wedding cake. We went in after they were recommended by the hotel were we?re getting married. They will not allow you to design the cake you want and the lady that waited on us was VERY UNPLEASANT. We left and went directly to Haydel and couldn't have been more pleased with the wonderful service and they accommodated the design we wanted. Cons: Very unpleasant lady at service counter more

The place for wedding cakes 3/24/2007

We got a fantastic wedding cake here at a very reasonable price. The cakes are moist, and their signature poured fondant is a dream, especially the almond-flavored one. They have both traditional and modern-style. Our square layers, stacked on an angle and topped with a giant chocolate bow, impresses everyone who sees the picture. They can even put in the old-fashioned ""pull charms"". Their groom's cakes can be very creative, to say the least.
