What a great spa day!! 12/15/2009

i try to visit Sweet lily whenever i get some ""me"" time. each time i go i instantly feel relaxed. i feel transformed by the time i leave and i love sitting in the big pedi chairs with a cup of tea that is always offered upon arrival. i love going so much that i would buy this gift for all of my loved ones....thats how special a place it is. the mani/pedi can last up to 2 weeks and the lip balm at the register is #1. try the coco-vanilla!!! i love it there!! treat yourself!!! Pros: so much more then a mani/pedi more

Great service and beautiful space 12/10/2009

Tried out Sweet Lily because I purchased a groupon....couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. I was offered tea and the girl who did my nails was really good. I totally relaxed in the cute rocking chair while my nails dried. Warm atmosphere from the welcome and the manager even took the time to talk to me about the non toxic polishes. I'll definately go back again! Pros: great space, not rushed Cons: wish there was one in my neighborhood more

A lesson in terrible customer service 10/17/2009

I WAS a regular customer at Sweet Lily, despite their very high prices. Time after time, I was made to wait for my mani / pedi despite long-standing appointments. Still I said nothing because it's hard to find a clean place, and the technicians were good and friendly. The last straw came when the owner one day wanted to close shop early. I had had my appointment booked two weeks prior to this, mind you, and called to confirm it the day before. Instead of being told that I would be the last appointment of the day, the owner said nothing. The day of my treatment, she told me they'd be doing my manicure first, which I found annoying because it left me with no time for my pedicure to dry. Once the services were finished, the owner literally turned off the lights and a.c. and started to pull the window grate down. Shocked, I explained that I wanted my *very expensive* mani / pedi to dry before I left. The owner told me -- on a 90 degree day -- to sit on the bench in front of the store, because she had a wedding to go to. I told her I didn't think that was right, and that she should have warned me she needed to hurry me out. She literally said ""fine, sit here all goddamned day!"" SERIOUSLY? What a B! The least she could have done was warn me when the appointment was made! that was it for me. On many occasions prior I witnessed what a ditz she was. Totally unprofessional. I'd rather spend the money at Jin Soon or Rescue! Nicer spas, anyway. Pros: Good technicians, clean. Cons: Manager is unprofessional and unreliable. more

Lovely! 3/9/2009

Sweet lily is one of the loveliest places to visit in the city for a Mani/Pedi. I've been going to this cozy country retreat for 5 years. The service is excellent, the products are excellent, as well as the atmosphere. The ladies that work there are very Lind and sweet, they know what they're doing. I usually get the cucumber Pedi and lavender mani. I always feel pampered, and it is a nice place to take your BFF for a girls day and get mani's and pedi's. more

Love It! 1/16/2009

A client of mine gave me a gift certificate to Sweet Lily for the holidays - I was expecting a really ordinary run of the mill pedicure and manicure but got a lot more! As a massage therapist, I work in a lot of spas and was actually impressed with how clean the place was...I even grilled the manager about the sterilization and was really happy with the answers. I guess people who just want a cheapie nail joint will not understand - but I don't want harmful chemicals in my services and I don't want to get a cruddy fungus from a place either - so I'll pay a little more that piece of mind. This was a great gift and I'll definately be back again! Pros: chemical free, knowledgeable staff, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN Cons: wish they did facials too more

Mani/Pedi - Good; Waxing - Bad 8/21/2008

my mani/pedi was awesome. i would recommend you treat yourself. HOWEVER, my bikini wax was HORRIBLE. I got really bad ingrowns. I usually go to bliss or red door b/c they don't use strips. Unfortunately, i was lazy and they had an opening....I now realize how sensitive my skin is and have learned my lessoned. The experience was so bad i'm thinking of getting laser so i won't have to deal with waxing at all anymore. Pros: atmosphere Cons: waxing more

Sweet place - spa service lacking 5/23/2008

I went in here to get my feet and legs exfoliated before the holiday weekend. The place is darling and the woman at the front reception area was very nice. I requested the Sweet & Simple cucumber pedicure, which includes a sugar exfoliant - Cost $44 bucks. The woman - who never said a word to me while preforeming the pedicure - exfoliated the bottom of my feet and ankles. I asked her to go up to my knees. She looked at my like I was crazy, and went up mid calf. I thought maybe she did not understand english , so I pointed to my knees and did not get a response. At this point I gave up - but was VERY disappointed as my legs need the exfoliant and it was the primary reason for getting the $44 pedicure. Next time I'll go to my neighborhood spa fpr $25 bucks. Pros: darling relaxing atmosphere Cons: overpriced for the quality of service more

Longest lasting mani/pedi I've ever had 8/2/2006

I don't go out of my way to protect my manicures, and I tend to be hard on my hands. I've had two manicures here and both of them lasted longer than any I've ever had before at any price point. The same is true of the pedicures. The technicians are very pleasant and thorough. It's clean, but warm and friendly without being intrusive. I brought my daughter for a mani/pedi as well. She loved it! Their products are great as is their staff. It's very clean and professional as well. Pros: Long lasting mani/pedi. Pleasant, professional technicians Cons: Definately need to make an appointment! It gets booked up. more

Basic Manicure with no Extras 7/6/2006

I went to Sweet Lily's for a Lavendar Manicure ($20). The atmosphere was cute and quaint, more like someone's country living room than a salon in the city. I had only a short wait before they were ready to do my manicure, which was simply a basic manicure. It included your typical grooming (cutting cuticles, etc) and a polish that lasted all week. The ""massage"" was simply them rubbing lotion in and lasted no more than a minute. My nails looked great, but I hardly felt pampered. Personally, I felt it was no different than a $10 manicure you get anywhere on the street. The big chairs for the pedicures looked cozy, though, and everything was impeccably clean. Pros: Ambience Cons: No Massage more

awesome 6/12/2006

this place is great. Ever so slighltly over the top, but do great nails. I recommend this place highly. more

What a nice treat! 1/19/2006

I was visiting NYC on business from LA and I found Sweet Lily on Citysearch and popped in for an emergeny manicure pedicure. I didn't have an appointment, but the receptionist and staff were all so helpful. They fit me into their busy schedule but didn't rush my services at all. They made me feel at home with a cup of tea and a pedicure in a big cushy chair. Its not the place to go if you're in a hurry, but it's definately the place to go if you need to relax, unwind and maybe even catch up on a book. I highly recommend it. more

NOT RELAXING 1/12/2006

After reading great reviews, 4 of us went to Sweet Lily's to enjoy a pedicure and manicure. We were told to be prompt. When we arrived, the ""hostess"" had us waiting while she chatted indefinitely on a personal call. Once we were set up for services, it was not ""hip"" but stark. Much time was spent sitting in pots of water or wrapped in hot towels. Little time was for pampering. The Lily experience was anything but Sweet. more

Perfect place to go for a relaxing manicure 8/21/2005

I've been going to Sweet Lily's for a while now and I absolutely love it! This place is wonderful! Its quiet and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and caring. The manicures and pedicures are great! and the price isn't bad at all! Compare to the other upsale salons in the city, this one sure beats them all with their service and price. Pros: friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, great price more

Waxing 7/12/2005

I can't believe that no one mentions the waxing here! Maybe everyone is afraid the waxer will be totally booked! The woman who does the waxing at this spa is fantastic - quick and perfect!!! I had a VERY bad experience at another place and only go to top notch waxing place - I am always comfortable at Sweet Lily!! more

It's Wonderful 9/26/2004

I had the pleasure of getting my manicure and pedicure at Sweet Lily Spa - it's definately not for everyone. If you want a place to rush you...then go somewhere else. If you want to be cramped ...def. go somewhere else. It's a little pricey - but it's worth it to be relaxed and pampered for a good amount of time. more

Best Mani / Pedi ever 7/27/2004

I'm one of those nail addicts that has to go every week to keep my nails looking great. I've been to lots of places around NYC and I have to say, this is the best mani/pedi I've ever had! For starters, this is not your usual nail salon....its a mini spa..and and the treatments are at spa level. Everything was so pampering and relaxing. Best of all my polished lasted much longer than usual, probably due to their great top coat. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else! Pros: Nice staff, Good value more

What A Great Time! 12/10/2003

Needed a fun place for my sister's surprise bridal shower. Sweet Lily was recommended by a friend and it turned out to be such a great time. We had the entire place to ourselves and were able to decorate with balloons, bring in wine and deserts. The staff was really friendly and all of our guests enjoyed themselves. Would definitely do a party here again. Pros: good service, open space, nice technicians Cons: downtown more

Save your money, go to Bloomie Nails 12/1/2003

I was excited to visit Sweet Lily Nail Spa after seeing it was so highly rated on Citysearch. When I arrived for my appointment with a corporate group, the owner had a terrible attitude and was not accommadating to our requests even after we had spent a significant amount of money. I was completely unsatisfied with my manicure, which after much explanation, the owner finally allowed me to have redone. The polish began chipping and looked terrible after only 2 days. The spa's decor was very open, airy and comfortable, however, the quality of service is equivalent to every other corner nail salon in Manhattan. I've gotten much better manicures and pedicures at Bloomie Nails minus the ambience, for a fraction of the cost. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Low quality, Expensive, Poor service more
