This place is delicious!! You will die unfulfilled if you do not eat their little shrimp cup appetizers especially. Also, fine variety of fresh curries. Yum, yum, yum, yum yum.

This has to be the best Thai place in town. I go here often for sushi and wine. Great! more

My Fav Thai Spot 1/4/2012

This is the best Thai food in Chattanooga. The service is over the top. I can't say enough about how pleased I am every time I eat at Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine. My fav is the Tokyo Roll and the Coconut Lemon Chicken soup. Try it...you'll love it. more

Excellent spot 5/8/2011

Though I live in Atlanta, I am a semi-regular at Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant. I'm from Chattanooga, and go there regularly to visit my mother, which always entails a Sweet Basil foray.\r Until my discovering SB, I had had very few restaurant meals in Chatt that I would call memorable.\r Sweet Basil is indeed memorable. The place is run by women-very special women. The music is always soft, tasteful, and unintrusive. The art work on the walls is interesting and well-chosen. The wait staff are lovely in every way; friendly, accomodating, efficient, and always smiling. \r The food, without exception, is perfect. Honest and good ingredients, and cooked to perfection. They can tailor the spiciness to anyone's palate.\r Obviously I can't recommend the place highly enough.\r This place should be every restaurant's model. more

My thai 8/2/2010

I am half Thai and I love Thai food. I usually only get Thai food when I'm at my Dad and Step-mom's house, eight hours away. When i heard there was a Thai restaurant in Chatt town I was very excited. I went with my mom and i ordered Thai tea, Mussuman Chicken and calimari. The food was good. I honestly have not been there near enough times to rate them fairly. I like Sweet Basil and am glad there is Thai food near, but it's not near as good as home cooked Thai food.\r Pros: good service. Good thai tea. quiet peaceful atmosphere more

Our Favorite Thai Restaurant 6/26/2008

I have a passion for Thai, and this place is my favorite. My husband and I live out of town now and even go back home to Chattanooga once in a while just to eat there. The red curry is excellent and so is the Tom Yum soup! Spring rolls are DELICIOUS! more

My favorite eating spot in Chatt and certainly...the Best Thai food in Chatt!!! 6/14/2008

I love this place!!! The staff is so friendly, very eager to please...and the food...WOW! The only thing that I do not like...is their hours. I just wish they were open more hours. Pros: EXCELLENT FOOD and EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Cons: Just wish they were open more hours!...that's it! more

not so great first experience 8/25/2006

I had the shrimp plate at $16. Four shrimp (I counted them twice!) The shrimp were rubbery. I did not eat them after the first bite. I had also asked for fried rice instead of white rice. The substitute rice cost $11 (for one plate of fried rice!) Still though, in all fairness, the rice was the one bright spot of the meal. Wife had the green curry pork. The curry was excellently spiced. The pork was a bit tough and chewy. The decor was basic strip mall location and unimaginative. \r Manager explained that large shrimp were always that way and I was going to have to pay for them. I and my wife were both disappointed with the ruined dinner part of an evening out. 41$ for meal with a coke and water. \r \r Needless to say, we will not be going back. Pros: The rice was excellent. Music selection and volume was non-intrusive. Cons: The shrimp were terrible. The pork, somewhat chewy. The price, totally non-value. more

Our Weekly Routine! 5/27/2005

We just can't help it. My wife and I are drawn back to this haven of great wait service, delicious food, and prompt seating - every week. We highly recommend the Crispy Duck and the Rama Chicken Curry. Both are a little spicey, but the runny nose that follows is well worth it! Pros: food...is...good! Cons: ummm.....? more

Great for Vegetarians!! 6/19/2004

Two thumbs up! The Masaman Tofu was delicious, excellent Satee sauce with cashews and avacados (favorites of ours). Even good for vegans! If you are vegan, not much in the way of deserts, but that's not a concern for me. Also try the fried tofu appetizer! more
