This place is near our house, but would be worth the drive if it wasn't. Their food is bar food with a twist. They take traditional foods like a burger and make them extraordinary, such as a burger that is deep fried in tempura batter, covered in a thai hot sauce and topped with wasabi coleslaw. Totally cool. They have some great slow cooked pork sandwiches, like a cuban and pulled pork. The most extreme burger is the Dead Texan, which is totally over the top. I may not do this justice, but it is a bacon cheeseburger. Oh wait, did I mention that the buns are two grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh and did I also mention that in addition to some delicious condiments, the whole thing has a fried egg with it!!!!
Food is all fine, but you need to wash it down with something. Their beer selection is excellent. They have a ridiculous amount of beers on tap. I am not talking your standard pilsners, I am talking some hard to get beers. One of my favorite things is how this bar seems to get all the newest Boulevard products before anyone else. I swear they had Tank 7 on tap like 2 years before anyone else did. The staff here is great. Despite having good bar food, the people that come here range from rich folks to people scrapping by. No matter what, I always feel welcome.
