Cheap, but spend a buck or two and go next door to Mishima 3/16/2006

Sushi Mac sushi is cheap, and one or two of their dishes (Sushi dynamite roll I think it's called) are tasty, but the quality is so low. It's worth an extra couple of bucks to go next door to Mishima and get a much higher quality Japanese meal. Also, the music at Sushi Mac is blasting loud, and the seating is a little annoying. If you go with more than one other person, it's hard to hold down any kind of conversation. more

Cheap good quality sushi 12/26/2005

This is a great place for fast (with exceptions) and cheap sushi. Each plate is $2.50 including tax. The restaurant is far from being fancy but nothing beats the prices, and the quality is pretty good. You will find yourself going back more that you would think you would! The parking lot is tiny and crowded, which can be quite frustrating. more

Loud Music: Store Policy 11/24/2005

If you want an expensive and fancy sushi restaurant where the staff waits on you hand and foot: do not go to Sushi Mac! If you want a fun and casual dining experience with sushi for $2.50/plate then Sushi Mac is the place. The spicy and tempura shrimp is my favorite dish, but my favorite part of the restaurant as a whole are the "rules" they have posted liberally around the small dining room. One of the rules is "Loud music: store policy!" While the music isn't always loud the personality of the owners and staff shine through to give a very unique restaurant. Great for new friends and people visiting LA for the first time! more

Sushi in a different setting... 9/10/2005

Sushi Mac is hidden inside a small shopping complex. Inside there is an island in the middle of the small diner and you sit down, as if at a bar and watch the cooks prepare the food. They sit you where there is space and you will always sit next to someone new. The food is incredibly cheap, all plates costing 2.50 and it tastes really good. People are hesitant to try Sushi Mac because of the prices but it is well worth it. It’s hard to find good, cheap food. more
