Sushi Takahashi is exactly what you expect it to be - an affordable, quick, kitchy sushi joint - and that's not a bad thing. It's not always a good thing, either, and I've had more dubious pieces of fish and more slightly queasy mornings-after with this sushi joint than any other. Still, I keep going back, probably because of the convenient location (near Powell's - I'm hooked) and because when they do it well, it's pretty good. Deep-fried bits of Tempura Tai are placed on rice and drizled with a spicy sauce, and if you let them cool, they are tasty. Hand rolls, too, are a specialty here. I rarely take things off their trademark train-o-sushi, and order them fresh instead.
