At first this bar seems like a haven to beer lovers in Astoria. A great selection of craft and quality imported beers. The prices are as high as any bar in Manhattan, but I forgive them because they have great selection. And they have great bar snacks. So what you ask is the problem? Despite knowing enough to buy all this great beer, they don't seem to be able to handle it. Despite claims that they frequently clean their beer lines, the past five times I've been to the bar, I've had AT LEAST ONE beer that's been infected with acetobacter (makes it taste smell and taste like vinegar) ruining the beer. Furthermore, when I complain the bartenders tell me ""that's how some beers are supposed to taste,"" even when it was a German lager, or an English bitter. In any event, I've gotten blown off when I've asked about this problem twice. I want this to be my bar in Astoria, but I can't chance that one out of every three beers I order will be spoiled. Could you eat at a restaurant where the food was spoiled just as frequently? I take my chances every couple of weeks, hoping the problem has been fixed, but going on six months now I haven't seen any kind of improvement. At least 2 /3 beers I order aren't spoiled. A shame really...
Pros: Great Beer Selection, Good Food
Cons: Frequently Spoiled Beer, Expensive, Uneducated Staff
