Awesome Place for Happy Hour. 3/8/2010

I love this go every other weekend if not every weekend. more

Great place for happy hour 4/9/2009

The ""troc"" as I call it is a great place for happy hour at the end of a work day or b4 you start your night. Sascha one the bartender makes the best drinks and great convo. The food is far better than expected due to the size of the place...I recommend flank steak, medium rare..with mash and esparagus! more

Great Food and Service!! 10/20/2008

I went in there last minute with some friends celebrating my friend who was about to get married. Supposed to go somewhere else on the Sunset Strip, but no one informed us that you can't get in anywhere if you don't have an even ratio of girls with you! Anyway, we were walking by and the waitress was standing outside and brought us in and guaranteed us good food and drinks!! She was right, and we ended up having a great time and were happy this was the place we ended up. Great food and drinks, good crowd and music, and the waitress Pam couldn't have made it a better night. Thanks Trocadero! more

Best bar ever!! 10/17/2008

Patio seating where you can smoke, Filet dinner for $16 that is the best filet in LA and Raja the bartender who is amazing and plays the best music on the Sunset Strip. Probably the best bar/restaurant on Sunset. If you're lucky enought to get Jenny or Michelle as your waitress it should be a perfect night. Pros: music, staff and atmosphere Cons: not enough room to dance more

EXCELLENT food, great drinks.... 11/1/2007

The Sunset Trocadero has definitely got to be a place I would mark as ""one hell of a good time"". They have the absolute best filet tips, and calamari in all of Los Angeles. I like the location, centrally set on Sunset Blvd, giving everyone a good time to ""bar hop"". Although I prefer to remain seated, this little venue has been known to get unbelievably packed, and definitely a location everyone returns to after hopping to other close by bars. Pros: food, drinks, location Cons: parking more

Go See Jenny (with the Brown Hair, Red Lips, and Foxy Demeanor) 4/6/2007

We go here for one reason: Jenny. Jenny is the regular cocktailer and gives this place character and is so NOT LA, meaning no headshots or audition ambitions.\r \r We like the tables on the patio - me because I can stare at people walking by and wonder what other 818/714 bar they are going to...my friends because they can smoke without leaving the table, an LA rarity.\r \r Never eaten here, you can peek through this little octagonal hole in the wall in to the kitchen and it looks kind of scary....but it shouldnt be your first stop for dinner. There are better places in the neighborhood. No bridge and tunnel crowd in here, just people in the know. You can make it your first or last stop of the night....and lately (Spring 2007) they have been cranking up the music in to the foreground after 11PM so people even rock it out on weekends sometimes.\r \r Took me 9 years living in LA to appreciate this place. When you want to meet someone for a drink, this is like Jones, a good place to do it. Pros: Drinks are normal priced, Cool without trying to be, genuine Cons: Small, Not a place to meet a random hook up more

Perfect bar to chill on Sunset 3/1/2007

Some friends and I stopped at the Trocadero for a drink before heading out to dinner and were glad that we did. Drink prices were pretty reasonable and we ordered the marinated steak tips appetizer. While we didn't stay for a full dinner, the atmosphere was very low key with some good afrobeat music playing, the servers and bartender were attentive and the food was good. Highly recommended. Pros: Ambience, location, service, hours Cons: parking more

Low Key On Sunset? That's Right 2/21/2007

To sum the place up: a nice neighborhood bar with good music, reasonable drinks, and decent food. All of this in the middle of Sunset without lines, hassles, or begging. The place attracts a cool crowd from aspiring actresses/ models to bankers.. Overall a nice default place to go with friends to have a drink.\r \r Definitely a nice way to enjoy the Strip without getting caught up in the typcial two hour line with a useless bouncer. Pros: NIce scene, good drinks/music, no hassles Cons: small space...and who likes parking on Sunset more

pretty good martinis 10/25/2006

This place has a good vibe and good drinks (not the best, but not the most expensive either). The atmosphere is small and personable. Worth trying out. more

This low-key place is a great place to go with the girls before a big night out...they were very accomodating with my birthday party held there and have since then become one of my favortie places to go for dinner/apps and drinks, which are served until 2 am (yay!!!!). Not pretentious but very cool. good music/vibe. Friendly staff are favorites among the hip crowd. My favorites on the menu: crabcakes, filet dinner, chicken dinner, ahi salad, ceviche, & tuna tar tar...all of which are very good prices...making up for the martinis, which after happy hour ends, shoot up to the typical WEHO/Hollywood prices... Pros: good food/drinks, sexy, location Cons: smaller than most more

Really cool place!! Sunset has become such a touristy rat race, but this place definately feels like a neighborhood bar. The service is great - everyone seems to be having fun at their job. The food is, suprisingly enough, amazing! On my last visit, I got the Filet Mignon, and for $16, it was a fine piece of meat. It's hard to get outside seating, so, if you're looking to sit on the patio, a reservation might be a good idea. Pros: Service, Food more

COOL SPOT 6/8/2004

SASCHA THE BARTENDER ON MONDAYS IS THE BEST ON THE STRIP FOOD IS AWSOME BUT THE SAME JERK OWNER OF CADDY CORNER CABO CANTINA. ITS HIT OR MISS IF THE BOSS IS AROUND EVERYONE WHO WORKS FOR HIM FREEKS OUT. IF HES NOT AROUND THE PLACE RUNS LIKE A WELL TUNED MACHINE YOU GOTTA TRY IT. AND HOPE THE FOOL BOSS ISNT AROUND. more

Laid back bar on Sunset 8/13/2003

I like this place because it's a laid back place amidst all the pretentiousness and chaos of Sunset. It's small and intimate, so you can go there for a date or hang with friends and have nice conversation. They have happy hour with 2 for 1 drinks and the drinks are strong! Music is good. Pros: Strong drinks, Laid back, good happy hour Cons: Pricey more

Why am I spending $13 a drink again? 6/5/2002

Oh that's right, because I'm on Sunset. Whoopee. Apparently, the drinks subsidize the giant billboards outside. Regardless, at least the drinks are good even if they are expensive. And surprisingly, the appetizers weren't terrible. Great place to go before you go somewhere else. Also great to grab a drink after work. Just make sure it's pay day or you take out a small loan if you're thirsty. more

Cool? Yes. Pricey? Yes. 5/20/2002

After paying up to $20 for the privilege of hanging out on Sunset, you could find yourself paying $13 each for the huge, tasty martinis at Trocadero. It's a lot of money, but if that's no object, this is a cool place. more

avoid the crowds 5/19/2002

This little mid-strip bar/lounge is a great place to kick off the evening. The street-side patio is great for people-watching. Service is friendly. Drinks are a bit pricy but there never seems to be a to get in early in the evening. Appetizers are good too. Pros: good service, great atmosphere Cons: pricy drinks more

Avoid the crowds and enjoy the strip. 5/15/2002

This place is a great place to hang on the strip without having to endure the annoying crowds of most other places in this area. Drinks are a bit pricey, but they have one of the best happy hours (all drinks 1/2 price) from 5 to 8. Try the Filet Tips - and everything else on the menu - they have some fine tasting food here. more
