This place is nothing but a joke, the apartment itself is not bad, it?s very spacious. However management along with all office personnel is nothing but a joke. All rules apply only to tenants when office personnel can do whatever they wish and I?ve learned that complaining is nothing but a waste of your time. Perhaps a real background check should be done before hiring all of these incompetent people, and some kind of customer service course would not hurt them at all. They are constantly talking down to people as if their problems are not important. They look down at you half the time the other half they ignore what your concerns are. The office personnel is often too busy talking about their personal life, Priscilla talking about her loser boyfriend and her legal problems with the law due to child endangerment, as if this is something to be proud of. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone! Pros: SPACIOUS APARTMENT Cons: EVERYTHING more

letter to senator re: uneducated employees... 1/25/2008

Dear Senator Ensign, \r I am requesting your help re: income based housing assistance in LV. I lost my job (company closure) due to the Housing Crisis. We made a hard, yet responsible, decision to down size our living to make ends meet and protect our credit and future of our family. We found an income based complex in our area , Sunset Canyon Apts 9700 W Sunset Rd, LV, NV 382-7368, that would allow our eldest son to remain at his current school. When we applied on 1/22/07 the rep for the complex told us that it was based on income, previous housing history, credit and criminal. We provided my husband?s last 3 pay stubs and my unemployment award letter. The rep reviewed our income docs and advised us that we qualified income wise. Happily, we proceeded to the next step of getting 2 money orders; $300 for a holding deposit and $70. We received a call from them telling us that we were credit approved and all we could think is THANK GOD, our family just might make it through this struggling economy. Then we recv'd a call telling us that we were declined due to income. We were snowballed with what had happened since we were initially advised that we met ALL requirements. We were then told per Sec 42 housing requirements, my unemployment benefit needed to be annualized, which put us over the max annual income limit. They refunded our $300 deposit but kept the $70. \r I called the Tax Credit Dep in LV and spoke to Mark who confirmed the Sec 42 housing requirement. He also stated that they know this?.no they don?t! . With the decline in income, cost of COBRA, gas and food costs, we cannot afford to give $70 away on top of being put through anymore emotional rollercoasters. \r I don?t know who to turn to for help other than my Senator. I feel that citizens should be protected from this type of situation. Any help you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated from my family and others who will be protected from this in the future. \r more

Awful Management - Ghetto Teenagers Run Place 1/3/2006

The size and price of the apartments are great...but that's where the fun stops. The Management team is awful - in 6 years I've seen 6 different managers and all but one were incompetent at best. They tell a man he can't sing because it disturbs the neighbors (daytime) but they won't tell the ghetto foul mouthed teenagers to stay away from TOT-LOT!!! That’s daytime and night time. Yes, the area designed for the 5 yr olds is often over run with F*** Ni**** Motherf***** and all kinds of other pleasantries – we hear it almost every day. We complain and they do nothing!!! They won't fix things - our front door has been broken for 4+ years...we've submitted in writing and they've taken note during annual inspection - does that get it fixed - nope. Trees die, they don't replace so the property gets more and more barren every year. Inside doors break if you push too hard. Whether sealing is so bad you can see sunlight through the cracks when your door is closed. They won't replace filters. They do have nice washers and dryers. Earlier this year the assistant manager BURNED HER APARTMENT DOWN!!! Drugs are being dealt throughout property. I've seen teenagers beating up children (as in 7 yrs old!!!). If you have good kids - don't move here. If you are ghetto trash, well then I guess you'll fit right in and do whatever you want because management doesn't have the balls to stand up to anyone...especially the teenagers who roam the property. Pros: Size, Price - Nice Area Cons: Ghetto Teenagers, Poor Management more
