Summit School, established in 1933, is a progressive, coeducational day school for students in prekindergarten through grade nine. The school has an enrollment of more than 600 students. Each classroom is equipped with computers and high-speed Internet access. The school provides experiential learning at every grade level and offers classes in subjects, such as English, foreign language, math, science and social studies. It offers opportunities to students to participate in a wide range of activities, including arts, interscholastic sports and service projects. The school s ninth grade executive council sponsors a special service project each month, and its students contribute 1,000 hours of community service. It offers financial aid to eligible students. The school has athletic teams in baseball, softball, tennis, lacrosse, golf, soccer, football, volleyball and field hockey. Summit School is located in Winston-Salem, N.C.
