we brought a 6 month old puppy for spaying 8/11/2010

and she was spayed on one day....One month later, the puppy started a ""heat"" cycle, swelling, redness but no debris. This went on for 2 years. We took her to another vet to after an ultrasound and exam, not all of the reproduction parts were removed! We subsequentl found that she was spayed by a first year vet STUDENT! Lots of other problems developed, small tumors, otherwise healthy until her premature death at 8 yrs. 4 months....I cannot possibly recommend this vet. Each time prior to the spaying, shots, tags, etc., the puppy seem like she had been terrorized....Several of our friends also have used this vet and have had difficulty....Keep looking. There are some good vets around/.... more

Best vet I have ever visited hands down! 7/23/2008

All of my pets have gone to Southside for four years now for minor checkupsand life saving surgery and they have been the most knowledgable, flexible and caring vets I have ever experienced.\r \r I have seen several vets and had become somewhat satisifed with a vet in Franklin. I went to Southside as a fluke when my dog became ill and I had just relocated to Brentwood. They were the only clinic open at that time. They were fantastic. I was able to be worked in within 15 minutes and they took incredible care of my 14 year old lab. Then my cat had to have a life or death surgery that required extensive internal reconstruction. My cat was returned to me with the slightest incision with minimal pain and he healed quickly. The vet even called my home on two seperate occasions to check on my cat and to give me further advice on how to help care for him. We did not owe the vet any money or another check up. They had simply called because they cared.\r \r Pros: Everything, too many to list! more

Wonderful Experience 10/13/2007

It was Saturday morning and my dog's serious illness had relapsed AND of course, my veterinarian was out sick. So, I spent Saturday morning calling around to vets all over town and no one would see my dog, even in spite of the clear emergency. That was until I called Southside Animal Hospital. They were extremely friendly and empathetic. They worked us in within 15 minutes of my phone call and contacted my veterinarian for all previous records. Everyone from the front desk to the techs to the veterinarians, were wonderful. They all treated my dog with love and put me at ease. We worked with Dr. Singleton and she was great with my dog and I left confident that we were in good hands. In fact, I just found myself a new vet. They are extremely compassionate and their fees are fair. Pros: Compassionate and competent staff, fair fees, clean more

Great service!! 3/2/2006

My family has a Weimaraer puppy, and chose Southside Animal Hospital because they treated my dog prior to purchase. They have a large waiting room, and the wait is not long (< 5 min.) for most appointments. Appointments are easy to get, and I like the staff and the vets. We work with Dr. Singleton, who is great with our Weim. Our dog actually enjoys going to the vet! Pros: Great parking, Friendly staff, Pointers on puppy car more

You need to go here! 7/9/2005

My husband and I bought a new Chocolate Lab puppy. We live close to the Southside Animal Hospital, but that is not the only reason we chose it. We had heard great things about it from current ""patients"", and the building looks great. They have a nice grassy area with landscaping and flowers. It is a welcoming place, and everyone there is very nice. There is a waiting area with chairs, a child's corner, and scales to weigh your pet. They also have leashes to use while you're there in case you forget one. They usually have complimentary dog treats at the counter, too! I highly recommend this vet. The one we have worked with is Dr. Phillips, who is very friendly! more
