Stinson Beach Motel

Years ago before the new owners and the remodle, which consisted of Martha Stewart painted walls and floors with white down comforters. It was a great place to stay the gardens were beautiful, the rooms were full of flowers. The price was right. When the past owner passed away it all changed. The raised the room rates and made it a 2 night minium requirement. I usto go every summer and stay there about 5 times a year. Now its to expensive and not worth it. Im usually looking for a one night stay when I go t Stinsen Beach, not 3 day 2 night trip. The Rates 70.00 to 230.00 for a room that has nothing in it. I usto stay at the large room with the kitchen front room and bedroom the largest unit for 70.00 now its 230.00. $460.00 for the weekend. Im better off at the Ritz SF for one night for that price. \r \r Its all a shame. You could tell that the previous owner loved her gardens. She loved placing fresh cut flowers in each room. The windows that barely closed because of all the bougainvillea. A really nice and quiet place to stay. She made us feel very welcomed everytime we came, we miss her terribally. more

A BAD CHOICE, and, quite simply, embarrassing from the moment we arrived. I thought is was strange that the manager had me pay for both nights ahead of time, but then realized the logic after seeing the room. It looked like a re-modeled tool shed. After ducking past the overgrown plants just to get through the doorway, we found the pre-reserved room to be freezing and furnished only with a bed (which sagged in the middle), a small stand with 10"" tv, and a couple rolls of toilet paper. NO dresser, night stands, phone, blow dryer, iron, ice maker, or even shampoo. Not to mention our linens were not replaced after the first night, just folded and placed back on the rack. Although we weren't expecting the classiest b&b, this place was ridiculous even by Motel 6's standards. It left us wondering where our $100/night was going. Pros: location more
