If you're trying to choose a Seattle wedding venue and are looking for something elegant and fairly economical, the Stimson-Green is a wonderful choice. We were married there on 1/1/09. Gillian Bauman, the events coordinator, is friendly, tasteful and knowledegable, and has a knack for offering her expertise without trampling on the bride and groom's ideas.\r

A caterer as well as a venue, the Stimson-Green is also a bastion of sanity during the wedding planning process. Couples who prefer not to complicate their budgets with multiple vendors and want to know costs up front should consider this historic property, where they will receive expert guidance and event service (including the bartender) fantastic Northwest food (which the out-of-town guests won't stop talking about - one of our few local guests even said it was the best salmon he'd ever tasted), and all the stressful little trappings (no need to rent tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, etc.)\r

If you want to do an iTunes wedding, this venue is ideal; the existing sound system plugs right into a laptop and feeds into the library speaker system.\r

We had about 60 people at our wedding, which was the perfect number for this venue. Everyone loved it. We are getting a flood of e-mails (and even thank you notes), not only from our guests, but from our friends who couldn't make it, who are hearing all the raves from the people who were there!\r

If you're thinking of including the Stimson-Green on your short list of venues, do it. We really cannot recommend it highly enough. It is absolutely worth exploring; and if you ultimately decide to get married here, then congratulations on a fine choice!
Pros: Elegant, experienced, reassuring event coordinator, great food, intimate, beautiful
Cons: At some point, the party has to end.
