I tried to file a claim on damage done by wildlife to my house. When they started just telling me to tarp my house and nothing else about moving forward with the claim, I asked how much of a headache is this going to be? I was told that this is already a headache. Excuse me? We decided we didn't want to wait for a claims person to come, because we had already set up an appointment with the person to start the work in three days and they couldn't say when someone would come out. My husband and I decided to just switch insurance companies, because we didn't need the attitude. When the assistant called to give my husband the claim number, he told her never mind we are going to switch companies. She complains about staying a half hour late working on this. I guess getting off work at 5:30 is really rough. My husband works till 7:00. He calls the claims department to tell them never mind and that guy says the damage is less than you thought. No! Finally, got new insurance the next day and when I call to cancel they say okay we will send you paperwork. Next day get a call about how I can still file the claim. When I ask about not caring about losing customers my agent says ""I'm not going to make stuff up."" I never asked you to make things up. When I bought up complaining about staying late, I was told to look at it from her shoes. Please give me a break. I pay for your service, and this is how you treat people? I now know why she had to be handed business when our agent passed away.
