I am a disabled senior citizen and am generally not wont to complain about customer service, realizing that with the advent of technology and the current trend of having fewer employees to do more work; but the abject rudeness and unprofessional conduct of the staff at this pharmacy compelled me to relate my experience. My Dr's office is in the same bldg as this pharmacy owned by Stephen Rowland and I have a debilitating case of spinal stenosis which besides being crippling is extremely painful so I have to try and keep my travels to a minimum. My Dr prescribes the pain relief ""patch"" Fentanyl or Duragesic which I have worn for several years being opioid tolerant. The Dr told me that to get a refill, I could just call the pharmacy and they would call his office, thereby saving me an extra office visit just to pick up a Rx. This pharmacy employee/clerk Kathy or Cathy informed me that they wouldnt call the Dr. I would have to see the Dr. So, I called my Dr's office to inform them of their mistake and to set up an appointment to come in and pick up a Rx. Dr was mystified as to why he couldn't call it in, also saving me taxi fare and inconvenience. Anyway, I started going to Walgreens, which even though not as convenient, WILL call my Dr for me and they are also open nights and weekends which StFrancis is not. But the main reason is the friendly, professional staff. The staff [mainly] Cathy is the rudest, most unprofessional individual I have ever encountered in a retail environment. I just wonder if the owner a Mr.Stephen Rowland is aware of the surliness of his employee. I did notice on YAHOO that there are others with the same experience with the rude staff at StFrancis Pharmacy, so apparently mine is not an isolated experience. For these reasons, I go to a far less convenient pharmacy. If your'e looking for a smile and a ""thank you"" avoid this place!!!!
