Speed's Towing - Serving Portland SInce 1958 Welcome to the Speed's Family. When you call us you are treated like our most precious family member. We are celebrating over 50 years of being in business, and we remember what it was like in 1958 to be a company that specialized in service. Our goal is to make sure that you get extraordinary service and care every time you talk with us and to always give 5 star service to you and your vehicle. While towing is our expertise, we also provide battery jump starts, lockout service, tire changes, we carry compressed air and friendly service! Our Guiding Principles Integrity - Honesty and high ethical standards in everything we do. Image - Professional appearance, clean trucks, courteous driving. Appreciation - Respect and gratitude for customers, teammates, community, equipment, environment, and company. Financial Results - Strengthen the financial health of the company and teammates In 2008, we celebrated our company’s 50th Anniversary. Harold “Speed” Coe started Speed’s Towing in a Flying A service station at Broadway and West Burnside. Burnside was Auto Row for Portland then, and Speed’s served many new car dealers, and the retail public. At the high point in 1996, Speed’s operated 151 trucks out of 14 locations, covering greater Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, and Salem. However, “big” does not always relate to success. Since 1996, we reduced low dollar auto club work to only 6 percent of our volume, and have eliminated all salvage tows (insurance totals to salvage auctions). The smaller, focused team now operates from our Beaverton, Parkrose, and Clackamas lots, and from our main office in the Central Eastside Industrial District, with state-of-the-art light duty and medium duty tow trucks and car carriers. We are forever grateful to our long time loyal customers and certainly appreciate every customer. Thank you for all your continued support over the years, and for being one of our valued customers. Our 2 covered car carriers can haul one vehicle on the bed, and tow one vehicle behind. They are equipped with air dump suspension, in order to lower the load angle for lowered cars and for those with a long overhang past the tires. We use the very latest 8 point tie down system, touching only the tires of the towed vehicle. In addition we use our enclosed car carriers for specialty cars, collector cars and bare metal project cars.
