Nannette I have heard the name on many occasions just from living in Forest Hills my whole life. I have always gone to Manhattan for my hair because after all I work there so it was convenient right after work have my hair colored and take the train back home to Forest Hills. One day my friend told me why dont you just try this girl Nanette at Spectrym? She is amazing! She listens and she is extremely talented. If Nanette does not think a color will look good on you she will tell you. Well, I was a little busy this month and decided to stay in Forest Hills to have my hair done. I made an appointment and I was a little nervous, I was set up with a robe and asked to change and I was offered coffee,water or tea. I was seated and I was introduced to Nanette with her wonderful smile and witty disposition. She set me right at ease I immediatly knew she knew her stuff. She encouraged me to change the color just a little to brighten up my face,she highlighted it to a soft color around the frame of my face and I feel like a new person. Last week while shopping I passed a hair salon called Spectrym and I decided to walk in,I was due for a haircut and needed a change. While I was waiting I remembered someone telling me about a man called \r NIGEL and asked if I could see him. The girl in the front said sure but he is very busy all time can you come back later? I said sure and came back in the afternoon. Thank heavens I went back I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A GREAT HAIRCUT! He is trendy and fun and talented and amazing! We had so much in common.He really really listened to my needs. I found my new place and feel great dont hesitate. Also one other thing the girl who washed my hair was also very informative and friendly. like being treated like a real person when I am spending money! I have been going to Spectrym for about a year now and always coming back for my favorite esthetician Angela. She does a marvelous job on my face and I am always happy with a result, especially several days later when my skin feels very smooth. She is also excellent with massages and waxing and advised me on what sort of products I should be using for my skin type (without being pushy about selling). Angela is always ready to be flexible with her hectic scheduler if one needs something to be done urgently. The rooms are very clean and cozy with some relaxing music (or chatting whatever you prefer) and the equipment is up to date. I always walk out of there feeling satisfied and smooth. The rest of the staff is professional and friendly as well. I am always happy to make my next appointment especially now when you can make it on-line. more

Sunday afternoon, I was walking along the street during the street fair and happened to come upon a great hair fashion show I spotted an amazing crowd of people standing around and looking at something. It was several hairdressers putting on a show. I was so amazed at the talent and excitement I stayed for about 20 minutes just watching. At the show people were handing out samples and menus and all kinds of great stuff for the salon. So, I read a little about the services and decided to get some things done . Well I was never so impressed in my life. The people are terrific and nice and proffessional. I got the BEST BRAZILLIAN WAX I have ever had! I also got a great haircut. I have gone everywhere to get my color done. I guess you could say I am never happy, well there is a first time for everything............I saw a woman on the e train and admired her color so I asked her who did it and she told me Nannette from Spectrym Salon.She told me she has been there a long time and that she is the most talented colorist she has ever met. Anyway, I called and made an appointment and went into see her. I was still a little apprehensive until I met her and She listened and made some suggestions. I have never been happier with my color in my life. So I asked her who cut her hair and she told me Lisa so I asked if I could have an appointment with her but she was too busy and I booked it for the following week and had my haircut. Well I struck gold! First, Amazing color and then a dynamite haircut The talent and proffessionalism of those 2 girls is highly recomended.Dont' be afraid take it from me Spectrym is the place to be! I was looking for a new hair salon in Queens. Internet search found me Spectrym which had many good reviews. I went on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. My hairstylist was Robert who definitely knew his job which was good because I had no idea what I wanted and went along with his recommendation. I was very happy with the results. I have received many compliments on my new haircut and it is really easy to manage. I would highly recommend this salon and stylist more

After having several haircut disasters all over Queens I decided to try Spectrym because it has great reviews on several websites. I went in yesterday for my first haircut and it was a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and will accomodate you (I could only make it there about 30 min before closing, but they were still willing to take me). It is especially important for me to find someone who can cut my hair well, because it is curly and big and I am very particular about the kind of haircut that I need. My hairstylist, Langa, asked me questions throughout about how I liked it and if there was anything I wanted different, etc. She was very attentive and wanted to ensure that she gave me the exact haircut I wanted. I was very pleased with the results and will definitely return for future cuts. I was told that the cost is about $60 for a haircut and blowout, which might be a bit pricey for Queens but it is worth it. Also, a lot of the reviews said that parking is a problem, which it is (if anyone knows Austin St., they know street parking is almost impossible unless you're willing to drive around for about 30 min looking for a space). I went at an odd hour on a weekday, so parking was not a problem for me. If you can avoid going at peak hours or on the weekends, then parking will be much easier to find. I finally found a place I can go and receive the services I have been looking for. On thursday I finally got a microdermabrasion facial by someone who knew what they were doing. I also got permanent eye brows and they look terrific. From the minute I walked in to this salon I felt like a princess. It is a very cosmopolitan salon without the expensive prices or the snobbiness. I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone. Ask any question and the receptionist will give you the answer. Now I am going back to get my hair and nails done and a massage.. They also do great lenths hair extensions at a fraction of the cost of Manhatten. Ask them to show you a sample of the hair and the procedure it was amazing. I never would have known it was not the persons real hair. It was AWESOME! My girlfriend is getting married and just booked an apointment for hair and make-up. We saw pictures of the work they have done it was amazing. Anyway cant say enough about a place that treats you so well and serves you bagels and coffee and water and cookies and at the same time treats you like a lady. Recently, I have gone everywhere all over Forest Hills to have my hair done. I usually have always gone to Manhattan.\r Since leaving Manhattan I have not been happy. I was on line one night and found you guys. So I took a chance and had my hair colored and highlighted and cut this last weekend. It was one of the best choices I have ever made. From the moment I stepped into the salon,I was greeted with smiles and professionalism that no salon in the neighborhood could match. I was a little nervous and my fears were immediately eliminated.My hair is shiny and the color is vibrant and my haircut is finally trendy and gorgeous and I didn't have to travel to Manhatten to get it. i was told to go to spectrum salon by a friend so i made an appointment for a massage and it was one of the best i have ever had very proffesional and cute setup thanks to faina i was able to relax . i decide to go back for a cut so i walked in and they took me even without an appointment i was very nervous being that i have had some terrible cuts but thanks to vita who really listened to me i left happy with what i wanted thanks spectrum i will be back and i am reccomending this salon to my friends and family Pros: very friendly i felt like i have been going there for years Cons: parking more

What is so great about this place?\r \r 1) It's not a hole-in-the-wall as a lot of the places in Queens have \r been that I had encountered previously.\r \r 2) Service is great and they are right on time!\r \r 3) The stylist will do 'what you want', offer you something to drink or eat AND get you a magazine. This may not sound like much, but when it comes to Customer Service, this place definitely does not fall short.\r \r Growing up in Manhattan, where the competition is fierce and the expectation level or service is usually much higher, I find that Spectrym emulates some of the trendiest salons in the City. They know the latest hairstyles and chemical processes and their hip young staff can accommodate the young and old alike.\r \r DEFINITELY TWO THUMBS UP!!!
