Best

Every time I go to NYC for business a visit to Sparks is a Must. Best Stake, great service, incredible wine and cigars selections.

Worst

Sparks didn't offer what I expected... if you like very simple meat and potatos, this is the place for you. The best steak I have ever had, anywhere was in Lancaster, PA at JMs Bi...

Spark’s is famous for its lobster and steak, but it’s also notorious as the place where a mobster was gunned down in front of its doors. Nice décor includes old orange-lit chandeliers, landscape paintings, and lovely dark paneling. The veal chop, lamb chop, and 16-18 ounce steaks are legendary, or for non-meat lovers there are filet of tuna, rainbow trout, and halibut, though I can vouch for none. Very large wine-list, one of America’s largest. Everyone I’ve known has gotten steaks there, all of which are succulent, velvety, seared to perfection, spiced amazingly, and melt-in-your mouth. I don’t even remember sides, but I think they come a la carte. If you want a world-class steak, GO HERE! more

Editorial

  • Sparks gained its most enduring fame when mobster Paul Castellano was assassinated on his way in, but that just proves that its meat is worth dying for. OK, maybe that's an exaggeration. Certainly...
