Best

Loved it. I've heard many good things about this place and wanted to try it for myself. I went with my husband and we've decided that we're going back once a month as a relaxing...

Worst

Dirty and rundown. Plus don't expect to get any type of customer service here. As you can see the owner is off his rocker.

Spa 88 IS EXCELLENT NOW!IT HAS CHANGED! 2/9/2011

It has been renovated-the pool is clean and the banya is kept clean at all times. The old reviews of this place may have had some truth but last October 2010 it was renovated and it is SUPER-A GREAT place to relax and detox-The food is also really excellent and clean Try it again $32 for the entire day!!!!!!Massage etc is extra at reception~Give it a Whirl QUIET from 10-6 Everyday more

REALLY BAD THOSE OTHER POSTINGS ARE FAKE 12/10/2007

This place looks good on the outside nice colors etc The people STINK and they are really dishonest- The owners look like they are inscrupulous and there may be underground activities sex-drugs and aliens I saw them take deposits for a Party and not refund the people and not let them have the party Their parties are outrageously filthy Google the owners name-You will see his RAP sheet I have seen them operate with so much health hazard They are not shut down becaue they pay good fines to the city Well do not be a fool seek pleasure elsewhere more

great place to relax 10/7/2005

I love this spa. I came here with one of my clients and they had a good time relaxing and talking over tea, which is a special treat there. The place has a large pool that you can do laps or just relax in, and the saunas are the best here. Service is top notch, but you'll pay for it though, since it's a bit pricey. more

nice russian spa 12/22/2004

In downtown Manhattan in the heart of Wall Street lives this adequately run Russian Spa. All underground, it has a rather large facility... Russian Sauna, Ice Cold Pool, Swedish Steam Bath, Pool, Hot Tub, weight room, billiards room, Tea room, Smoking room, Weight room. The locker room is decently maintained & there are plenty of clean towels. The price is reasonable & there's a good Russian diner in there as well. Service is not what I would call warm and friendly, by they aren't sneezing on you either. I think they used to cater to the Russian crowd and it is supposed to be popular with dancers visiting from out of town (e.g. Kirov Ballet), but it seems to be making a play for the actually bankerish Wall Street crowd, with unclear success. After going there (in a birthday gathering for a friend), I realized that it might be considered a pick up scene given some of the strutting (by both sexes)... but frankly, I don't think it's the best place for that... something too much about having people in skimpy bathing suits & pecks sitting next to older large hairy old-style rotund clientele seems just way too carnal for my tastes, but hey if you're into that, it could be a pretty interesting place.... The Spa itself, however, is a nice experience. more

Owner Message
  • ??This is bathing for the millennium; something old is now something very new and it's catching on fast! In today's stressful & sometimes toxic environment, The Wall Street Bath & Spa offers the unique combination of an ultra-modern facility and all the comforts and atmosphere of an Old World Bath-House. We are a club for both Men and Women. We offer a comprehensive menu of services for the relaxation connoisseur. With your daily admission, you gain entry to the Spa and unlimited use of the facilities. We provide you with personal slippers, and as many towels as you might need!

Editorial
  • A pink and turquoise reception area welcomes all-age visitors into this traditional Russian bathhouse. Memberships and day passes include access to the Russian and Turkish saunas and steam rooms (or "banya") for shvitzing and schmoozing. Platza--an ancient treatment that kneads your back with softened oak leaves to detoxify and relax the body--increases the day's restorative benefits, as do dips in the junior Olympic-size and cold-plunge pools.
