Spa In The Valley, A Salon by Debbie

I've had my hair cut by Lisa S for over 2 years. I couldn't be happier. I have thick hair with a few quirky spots- not always an easy combination for a short cut. Lisa understands how to cut my hair to flatter my face and satisfy me. She has suggested different techniques which have created slightly different looks. I liked all of them! When I've had to wait past my appointment time Lisa has made apologies and accommodations. I've recommend Lisa to several people with excellent results. Go to Lisa and you won't be disappointed! more

I finally caught up with Debby at the Spa in the Avenue, to tell her about all of my experiences at Hunt Valley. I mentioned one stylist's name that gave me a horrible hair cut for an interview, and how she was constantly on the phone and told me to wait while she took a series of cell phone calls. Debby said ....no she didn't...I said yes she did. Debby said "that is impossible", and I asked her why she would say that when it happened, I was sitting in the chair. Debby said, all of my employees were warned they could loose their job, if they use a cell phone with a customer. I told Debby it happened to me. Debby said well I will have to check the tapes, because she keep video tapes of everything. I said good..then you will see that I am telling the truth. Debby asked rudely, what she can do for me..I said nothing Hair Cuttery fixed my hair, it did not take much. Debby said perhaps Spa in the Valley is not for you. I told Debby the hair color is always good, but not hair cuts. I asked Debby if she read the reviews. She said some. I just could not believe this attitude from an owner of a business. I have met some really nice stylists there and like I said.....color for me is always good, just not the hair cuts. Some have a big attitude. more

I agree, Spa in the Valley they are not. They messed up my hair 4 times and had to keep calling someone else in to fix it--even for my son's wedding. Thank goodness the girl they called got it right. Why did I keep giving them more chances? Good on color. Complaints are taken by receptionists, who will tell you the manager will call you when she comes in, and they don't know when she will come in because the manger anager "just popps in". Went to Hair Cuttery they fixed, what the Spa in the Valley messed up this time. I give up with them. I paid good money and got poor service. more

My mom and I wanted to try Spa in the Valley in Hunt Valley, but weren't sure what services we wanted to try (she a massage, me a spa body treatment?). We asked the staff for help and they recommended the perfect service for both of us....the experience was incredible!! I plan on going back for more pampering- everything about this salon was Awesome! more

In February 2007 my best friend a I traveled an hour and a half to Spa In The Valley, A Salon By Debbie to indulge in a day of pampering in the form of a massage, manicure and pedicure and relaxation. After we arrived and settled in our robes, we were relaxing in the Tuscan Room, I in the spa and my friend in a lounge chair. I started to smell smoke, I checked around the room and found nothing. After a time we saw the fire alarm light illuminate. A staffer came in and said that we would have to get dressed and leave, because there was a fire. Of course we complied thinking we would come back later which was not to be. We were told by Jennifer that Debbie (Nazelrod) would comp our next visit should we like to reschedule. We rescheduled with Melissa who said that Debbie would not comp our visit, but she was sure that Debbie would offer us something off for the inconvience. So on our rescheduled date we traveled the hour and half back to the spa. We had our services, which were quite nice, but guess what? Debbie offered us NOTHING!! She refused to comp our services or even give a free service or discount! Her website touts guest satisfaction, but please don't fall for that. I felt deceived by Debbie. Please don't patronize her establishments. more
