Good Seafood Restaurant 9/20/2005

Southwells provides good seafood dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The accommodations are nothing to write home about, but the food usually is. In addition to good seafood, particularly fish and shrimp, the restaurant offers a fairly good steak dinner at a quite reasonable price. They have daily lunch specials which consist of southern dishes or comfort food. These lunch special are a great value. more

Gradual decline of a Palatka benchmark restaurant... 9/14/2005

Old, a bit run down and nothing too special about the menu. Southwell's has been a Palatka establishment for 40+ years and used to be a pretty nice place to dine. It's about par now and fine if you aren't expecting anything 'special'. The menu slants toward southern food and while they still draw the crowds, I fear it's mostly out of habit and lack of competition in this small city. Right off of highway 17. Easy in and out with plenty of parking. more

Southwell's Restaurant 8/1/2005

Southwell's has good food for a good price. They offer a large variety of foods including home-style foods and seafood. They often have a special of the day that always includes some kind of Southern Cuisine. Southwell's is a two story restaurant with lots of seating and large glass windows overlooking the highway. What they lack in atmosphere they make up in finger licking good food! more
