Hello, I had to get on here and give my props to South Bay Appliance. We had another company out here in San Jose that said our LG refer could not be fixed, we called LG and they recommended South Bay Appliance, before they would take further action. South Bay Appliance came out and told us the sealed system was bad, LG had the part to them in 2 days, and in this hot weather we have our refer back. Our family highly recommends this company. This company has been great for my family and I, had a bad experience with some LG appliances I purchased from Home Depot, could not get anywhere with them. I fianlly got a number to South Bay Appliance and they were very helpful, I had one appliance Home Depot tried to say was out of warranty, but South Bay Appliance took care of that as well. I understand that this company has to order parts and can't control all its processes, but we were put off three weeks past the promised due date, with no explanation, and the office made no attempt to accommodate us in any way. ""The part will get here when it gets here."" Choice customer service quotes include, ""We don't do nothing for no one."" ""Rose,"" the ""manager"" is not interested in solving customer problems--she is outwardly impolite and impatient and totally unsympathetic. I have been completely unable to reach the owner, Danny Espinosa, to lodge my complaint. I strongly recommend that you avoid this company if there is any possible alternative. \r I am a very busy single father, I had a dryer and a Referigerator go out in the same week, I called South Bay out to my home and the dryer was fixed same day, and the referigerator was fixed 2 days later. I have a home warranty with First American Home Buyers, they sent South Bay Appliance out to fix my referigerator. The freezer went out in this heat and the gentleman came out on emergency service and took care of the problem, I was very happy with the service and of course the gentleman did not get it done the first time out being he had to order the part which I understood. I was reading some of these things others have written on this company, which include good and bad, but one thing I must say. I saw one that said this company would bring them a new unit, and then they called and said they were bringing the part to repair, I know for a fact having a few homes myself, that the service company does not make the call if the appliance gets replaced or not, it is the home warranty company that makes this call, it really does amaze me what some people cry about now days, there is allot more problems out there to deal with, then to cry over such small potatos. The worse people I have ever saw in 11 year in US 6/10/2008

I purchased Home warranty from First American. My washer stopped rotating and when I called First American they assigned these people. They came 3 days to fix the washer, each time they changed some parts. When it did not fixed they are now asking me to setup another appointment, this is so frustrating hence I'm writing this review. For each appointment you have to stay at home for half a day. Moreover when you want to talk to them, the lady in the front desk would drop you several time and apologizes, very very unprofessional people. \r \r If your insurance assigned this contractors, say NO to them, period. Pros: None. Cons: Very bad service. more

I called our warranty people on our fridge that went out, they notified South Bay Appliance, I received a call back from them within 24 hrs. They came the next day as scheduled, the gentleman who came to my home, was very polite, answered all my questions, and did an A+++++ Job, I am very happy with the Service I received from them, and highly recommend them. Really bad attitude of employees 5/19/2008

I had repair service provided by this company for LG dishwasher. The repairman came five times to fix it and could not fix it. He always came without the parts he had ordered or came with a wrong part. Once he spent more than 2 hour before he figured out that the part was wrong. Sixth time he called just before schedule service time to tell me the part was wrong. This has been going on for the last 5 months. When they called 7th time to make an appointment and I complained about past experiences, tlhe waoman who called was nasty and told me we are busy. I would not have them do any work if they were not sent by LG company. Do not give them your business. I would give them ZERO stars but the system would not take it without at least one star Cons: Bad attitude, up prepared repair persons more

Wanted to put my two cents in for this company. I had my washer go out , have 3 kids at home under 10 and we called home depot where we purchased the washer and got South Bay's number. they came out the next day and replaced what the tech called a coupler? anyhow, it was fixed and we were happy.\r \r \r \r Thanks again Pros: quick service more

Horrible Company and employees 2/21/2008

This is the worst company I have ever delt with. They employees are lazy and don't care about their customers. I believe that they must have bad relationships with their vendors because they can't get parts (so they say) that other serivce company's seem to be able to get quickly. They will put you on hold for 30-45 minutes and are rude when they finally get on the phone. Pros: No Pro's Cons: Horrible Service more

this is a not a good company to do business with\r \r if you are lucky enough to get someone to anser the phone or return your calls you will be treated with disrepect and a complete lack of business professionalism\r \r i waited weeks to hear back after having an initial diagnosis and they never resolved my problem and seemed completely to not care about my problem\r \r when I called to ask why it took so long to get back, explaining the inconvenience of not having a refrigerator for several weeks, I was told (direct quote): ""I have lots of people who don't have refrigerators for even longer - so I don't think your problem is so bad""\r \r SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR SOUTH BAY APPLIANCE - SEE WHAT YOU ARE UP AGAINST WHEN YOU DEAL WITH SOUTH BAY APPLIANCE Cons: service, knowledge more

Really helpful, honest, professional 1/22/2008

I was a very satisfied customer with South Bay Appliance. I had a service company out to my home a few weeks back, they checked my microwave and gave me this ridiculous estimate to fix my microwave, so after talking it over with my spouse, we decided to go to sears and purchase a new one. Once we had the new microwave home, we did ask this company if they would install the new microwave, of course they did not do that either. Sometime back I used South Bay Appliance to install my double oven thermadore, so I thought I would try them again. The technician came to the home in the window the office gave me, and before he took my old microwave out, just out of curiosity, I asked him if he wouldn't mind taking a look at the old microwave, which was only 3 years old, and he went ahead and did. At my surprise, the technician asked me why I went and purchased a new one being this only had a burned wire. H fixed the burned wire, the microwave worked again. Not only did South Bay Appliance save me 600.00 because I returned the new microwave, but they also only charged me a service call being it was a simple fix. I tried to give the nice gentleman a tip, but he refused to take it and said he was just doing his job. I would recommend this company to anybody, I have read some of the negative stuff out here, and have also read some of the good stuff on here. In my opinion, anybody that has been in business for the amount of time this company has, it is impossible for the to get rated a 1, people are so demanding and unreasonable now day's , but then again, there is no such thing as a company being perfect either, so in this case I will give them a 4. Again, I really appreciate people like this, and hope that other's can see what they did for me. Pros: all the above more


DO NOT get warranty coverage or any other kind of service from this company. They have ZERO customer service, and are incredibly difficult to deal with.\r \r I tried to get a simple repair done under warranty and these people didn't return my calls, refused to answer my questions when I got them on the phone, and in general were nearly impossible to deal with.\r \r I ended up calling the manufacturer and demanding they transfer me to a new service company since this operation was so terrible.\r \r You are wasting your time and possibly your money if you attempt to have any work done by this company. Nice Experience 1/10/2008

I needed my dryer fixed for some time. I was hesitant to just call anyone to fix it, for fear of not being treated with honesty. I was very happy to find South Bay Appliance Repair! they were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond the call of duty. Tech was honest and competatively priced. I actually feel safer (as he spent time showing me how to get to all of the tricky places in my dryer to clean it out). I would call them again if I have an appliance that needs repair. The ETA was between 10 and 1, and Abe arrived at 12. Our refrigerator was freezing everything we put in it, and Abe came out for the service call. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and put a new seal around the door, then messed with the thermostat. While he was doing these chores we had a fine chat. For me, the personality of the service person is important as well as his work. Abe is a great guy, and he cares about his customers. He was here for almost 45 minutes and worked constantly while visiting. Tonight we had jello that didn't have to be chopped with a knife before serving it. Thank you, Abe, and thank you South Bay!
