Those that know me well know that I am incredibly particular about my hair. I sometimes joke that if you look at my hair the wrong way, it will fall out. I (usually) smile when I say this, but it's the truth. Or at least it used to be.
Seattle stylist Alexandria Slider has transformed my once weak, overprocessed African American hair into strong and shiny strands that garner compliments even on bad hair days. Slider operates on the "if you teach a man [or gal] to fish" premise, where she makes it her business to educate clients on maintaining healthy hair. So in between appointments, there are no disasters.
Still, when it's time for my biweekly appointment, I do always breathe a sigh of relief.
