i went out of sheer desperation after a string of bad haircuts. it all matters of course, space, attitude of personnel, trendy, wow even serve wine, but bottom line is the finish...

Worst Hair Salon Ever! 11/2/2011

This is the first time I ever felt cmpelled to write a review. This salon is overpriced for the stylist it offers. This has to be one of the worst haircuts I have ever had and I paid over $100.00 for it. Save your money and go to supercuts as you will get the same quality of service and cut. more

I Love Keelan! 10/27/2011

I had been searching foreverrrr for a hair stylist that just ""got"" me, I have lived in Houston for a little over a year and have already gone to 3 different places of which I will not name (because of groupon and living social websites). I guess I was always looking for the cheap way out. I always felt like I had to explain in depth what i wanted to all these places, only to be hugely dissapointed. After 2 recommendations for Keelan from friends of mine I decided to go. I felt like I barely explained what I wanted and immediately he just ""got"" it and started. I was in love with the results. Most money I have ever spent on my hair but it was worth EVERY penny. You should not have to stress about your hair, it should be easy if you have the right person to do it. Thanks Keelan! more

Always getting compliments 7/28/2011

I've gone to Keelan a couple of times and months after getting my hair cut I still get compliments asking if I just got my hair cut. He does a great job and really listens to what you want. He's easy going and great at his craft. I am pretty picky about my hair, but I highly recommend Keelan. more

Solution for hair is a great salon. Aesthetically it's beautiful. They have a great line of products to offer and the energy is fun. We all know that hair can sometimes be tricky. and if all the ""stars"" are not in line, things can not always go exactly as you'd hope with your color or cut. That's life, that's hair, that's the way it can go. That being said, to me, the true worth of a stylist/salon is how they handle the situation. I've been to MANY a stylist/salon who make excuses and leave you to feel as if you're the bad guy for speaking up. Mark, the owner of Solution for Hair is anything BUT that. I SO appreciate his willingness to always do what's right for his clients. He will go above and beyond to take ownership of what happens in his salon, and does not make you feel as if you're the problem. I appreciate his ""no blame"" approach (afterall, what's the point of placing blame when you really just want your hair to look amazing - and so does he)!. You can always go to Solution for Hair, rest assured, that Mark will do what's right in every situation. And THAT, is invaluable. Thank you Mark! more

Great Salon - They know how to listen 2/22/2011

I went to Solutions solely based on the reviews I had read. Could quite imagine a salon that the artists really listened to the client first, then made recommendations, but they really do this. Got beautiful natural blond color from Felicia and then a superb cut from Brandy. Have been all over the world and had this full head of hair cut by some of the best, but this is by far the best of both worlds for color and cut in Houston.'\r Will be back in 8 weeks. more

Unimpressed all around 12/20/2010

I am a bit surprised with the good reviews of Solutions. I am sure they are not 100% from customers. I was completely unimpressed from beginning to end. I had an appointment with Joel at 430pm. I arrived at 429pm and the receptionist was on the phone...no one greeted me and the entrance is less than inviting. Granted they are renovating, but make the extra effort for a customer to feel comfortable--especially a first time customer. Once the receptionist finished her call 5-6 mins later, she coldly greeted me, and then told me that Joel was running late--I left a meeting early to make my appt. Call me if there is a time change--rude. He never even acknowledged me or said to me personally that he was running behind...on the contrary, he talked more than he worked to the other client. He could have cared less that I was also on a schedule. When he came over, he asked (in third person) if I was ""waiting for Joel"", then introduced himself. Strange. He had an uncomfortableness that grated on my nerves, and was quite snotty without reason to be...he even made comments that ""unless I dress cuter than when I am in a suit, the hair I want doesn't fit"". Bite me. He is obviously not professional nor did he want my business again. It is overpriced, bad lighting, and the owners even came in and looked at me like I was an ogre. Good bye tired old salon hags. more

What a great color/cut! 10/8/2010

I purchased a pkg. from ""My Daily Deal,"" although I was hesitant to change hairdressers due to the fact that I have very curly, unruly hair, but I needed a change. \r \r Felicia sat me down and talked to me about what I wanted, and made some recommendations as to hair care products and colors. She was in no hurry although I was her last client of the day. The color/highlights/lowlights turned out beautiful! I have NEVER been so happy with color!\r \r Then I went to Joel for a cut. His first words were ""Okay, let's talk."" I love that he listened to what I wanted, and took it and ran with it. He made some suggestions along the way, which were awesome, and I walked out of there feeling and looking 10 years younger. I have had so many compliments on both my cut and color. \r \r This is an amazing salon with much talent! I would highly recommend them. \r \r The only ""con"" I can think of is the price. They are definitely not cheap, but if you want something really special, this is the place to go. more

The best! 6/2/2010

I have just moved from NOLA, and a coworker suggested Soultion to me. I really needed a cut and color fast. I wanted to go much lighter seeing as the summer has already began. To begin, Solution has to be the most beautiful Salon in Houston. It has a wonderful sleek modern look along with a gorgeous chandelier, attractive staff, and dynamic art. Seriously, the aesthetics alone put this place ahead. \r My stylist, Brandy, promptly met me at the front. During the consolation, she was very inquisitive and made sure to grasp exactly what I was wanted. Already, I felt more relaxed and knew that I could trust that we shared the same vision. I wanted to go completely blonde. I have always wanted a color that was more ashy than the color I have received at other salons in the past, but I was afraid that this wouldn't work with my skin tone. Brandy was amazing at guiding me in choosing a color tone that would accomplish actually what I was going for. The color turned out absolutely perfect. I didn't know my hair could be this pretty. As far as the cut, I wanted to get rid of a lot of the weight in my hair and add some layers that would make it a bit more edgy. She did exactly that. I left feeling so much lighter, and my hair looked so good I couldn't stop looking at it in the mirror. I also noticed this morning that it was much easier to style. Brandy was really great, and I am so glad I have found the Salon and stylist in Houston that I can really count on. I can't wait to go out this weekend and show off my new look. Grrrreat Place for Color and Cut!!! 2/12/2010

I had a color today with Felicia and a cut with Keelan. Both were amaaaaaaazing!! They took the time to talk to me about what I was looking for. Felicia consulted with me for at least 30 minutes about my hair color and what she was going to do. She did such an amazing job with my color and made it look wonderful!! Keelan cut my hair so well. He listened to what I wanted and spent his time making sure that I liked the cut. He is awesome!! Overall a wonderful experience :) Pros: Very Friendly more

Not worth the high prices 5/11/2009

I like going here because the staff is friendly and it's convenient, but honestly, I do not feel it is worth the price tag. I pay over $300 for a basic color and cut, nothing fancy. I feel that if I'm paying that much, I should walk out of there feeling fabulous. And I don't. I feel the same as when I only spend $150. I tried 3 times, the third was not the charm, so I'm going searching again. Pros: Hip atmosphere, good location Cons: Very overpriced more

Great for hair! 3/30/2009

On my first visit, Felicia colored my hair and took GREAT care of me. She gave me her professional opinion and went a step further to make sure i was taken care of. A bit pricy, but WELL worth it! Everyone was friendly, whether they worked on you or not.I was offered coffee, the environment is friendly and relaxed, not your regular hair salon. THANKS FELICIA!!!! Jennifer started by asking what I liked and dislikes, what I was open to, time of event, colors, venue...she listens to your answers. I enjoyed my time with her, she is very sweet. This is a really neat salon. Everyone there seems extremely talented. I have had my hair cut by Keelan many times and he always listens to exactly what I want and has really good suggestions too. I've never had a stylist that paid so much attention to detail. I would highly recommend him and the salon. Pros: precise cut and attention to detail more

Best Hair Colorer Around 1/1/2009

I have been getting my hair colored by Felica Joesph for 10 years or more she is the best. No one can color hair like Felica , I drive sixty miles to let her do my hair because she is the best hair colorer around. Also she knows just what colors match for you ,and everyone will stop you to ask who colored your hair ,and what color is it. If you want color ,and a Professional ask for Felica she is your girl ,and you want be sorry trust me . more

Eyecatching Color 12/7/2008

Everywhere I go people ask about my hair color! I tell them my colorist is Felicia Joseph! I had never had my hair colored before until I met Felicia Joseph a year ago. The first time I met Felicia I told her that I wanted something different. Felicia told me exactly what color would look good on my hair. I was hesitant but she made me so comfortable with it. Now when it's time to get my hair colored, I just go and sit in her chair and let her do her thing. It still amazes me that she remembers the color of all of her clients. I don't have to say a word. If you are looking for a great colorist, Felicia Joseph is the solution! more

Go to Solution and ask for Felicia. She is the best. I don't get my hair colored,but I have seen her do some colors that make me want to change my style.But, because of her, I have inherited the description as the lady with the pretty silver hair.Felicia has cut and styled my hair for about fourteen years,and I hope I never have to find another stylist.She does what she know is best for your hair. I think that's why I trust her 100%,she keep up with the latest styles, cuts, and colors.
