Total rip-off! 1/15/2013

I lived here for two years. If you enjoy loud neighbors, unprofessional staff, and over-priced dirty buildings, this is the place for you! Neighbors are loud and disrespectful. So is management. Residents are too arrogant to pick up after their dogs. Typical for Seattle, I guess. Even worse, when you move out they'll slam you with hidden fees, even if you do everything by the book. more

Urban oasis - what a joke! 3/19/2008

I thought potential renters might want a more recent update on Solara. The place is no longer clean - the garages are filthy and the garbages leak disgusting water out into them. I can't even let my dog walk through, because its so bad. Which is really unfortunate, because that's the only way to get to the dog run when the building is in "lock down" (between 10pm and whenever management feels like coming in in the morning). There is dog crap everywhere in the courtyard. Every time I complain I'm told they have taken care of the problem, but then I see more crap. We are supposed to have a doggie bag dispenser (which people count on) and I've only seen it have bags twice for about a day until it runs out. There's no communication with the residents. We have a news letter, but it doesn't have anything really useful - like why the treadmills have been broken for months and why there's still broken glass in the gym. Why pay for a gym with no equipment? And, why pay a $25 a month pet rent if there's no help keeping the dog crap cleaned up? Don't bother trying to call the office - they never answer and never return a message. Don't get me wrong - the apartment is great on the inside, but once you leave you need a hazmat suit to get out of the building. more

Solara Apartments 3/8/2006

I have lived here for 5 years and have not minded it up until this last year. When I first moved into these apartments the facility was extremely clean and well kept with excellent management. It is still really nice but management has become lax on certain things. For example, we recently had 3 new neighbors move in and they ALL play their music WAY TOO LOUD. One individual played his music at 3:00am. I called the security person and he informed me that it wasn't his job and that I should call the police. I didn't want to call the police so I asked the individual to turn it down. Management informed me, from the very beginning, that if these problems were to ever occur that they would take care of it and to call security. I have asked management to take over these problems and yet they still keep occurring. Other than management I would say that these apartments are really clean and nice to live in. Don't let the workout room fool you, its crap! In all the years I have lived there I have only used it twice. The neighborhood is ghetto and you will hear an occasional gun shot. My boyfriend and I aren't really fazed by all this and haven't had any real problems accept for our loud neighbors. more
