Horrible Management 7/18/2011

I called to arrange a party for my colleagues. The person I spoke to was rude, paranoid (yes, paranoid), and could not be less accommodating. I had several questions regarding space, pricing, and the menu. The person on the phone (I can't remember his name, but he told me was a manager. Turns out he was a bartender and NOT a manager) accused me of having a rude tone. I had simple questions that anyone would ask about arranging a work party. This person had become confused by a question I asked and when I tried to rephrase the question better, he said that my tone was upsetting him and that he ""needed to calm down for a moment."" No lie. He actually said that. I think I was asking about space size in a certain area of the restaurant. I told him I was not trying to upset him and apologized if I inadvertently had. He continued to be rude. I asked his position and he claimed he was a manger (as stated earlier). I asked if he could speak to the owners (he mentioned before he would have to ask the owners about the space issue) and get back to me. He never called me back. I called again for follow up and was told by another bartender that he was, in fact, not a manager. The manager on duty was not available and did not return my call. I wrote a letter to the owners explaining what happened and never heard back from them. My husband is from Ireland, born and raised. I've been to dozens of Irish pubs. Slattery's is no Irish pub. Firstly, the service is anything but Irish. Management and ownership is completely incompetent in handling a simple work party of approximately 25 people during their happy hour on a Tuesday. I mean, come on, people, this is not rocket science. I bring in 25 people to spend money at your establishment on a day that is not super busy and you can't handle that? And you can't deal with your incompetent bar staff and management? The only good thing about Slattery's is that at one point they served Magner's Irish Cider (a tasty cider hard to come by in Colorado). Despite this tasty beverage, I will NEVER return to Slattery's Fake Irish Pub, and you should avoid it as well. You want Irish? You'd be better off at the Irish Rover on St. Paul Ave in Denver. more

Just SUPER 5/1/2010

Have been several times. They have a wonderful setting with booths that have leaded glass around the tops. Super happy hour menu with slidders which are really tasty, their salads are large and fresh. Lots of TV's. Great Irish menu also. If you go on TGIF you better get there about 3PM. Might have to park across the street in public parking and gets full quick, sometimes can park in the office complex just behind them. Very fresh place. Pros: GREAT Patio, wonderful bar. more
