My first impression of this spa was less than stellar, because I hustled to get there with enough time to relax before my services, but when I arrived, the (tiny) waiting area was packed and the reception staff was pretty blase about my arrival. As in, not a lot of butt-kissing occurred. If you are in to a no-pretenses environment, I would say Skin is right up your alley. The only waiting-area offerings for clients were water and mints, both of which I had to fetch myself. All the rushing to arrive in time for a little pre-treatment relaxation was in vain - I had to wait 25 minutes past my appointment time. Granted it was a Saturday during Spa Week, but the staff was basically unapologetic about the wait. Not cool. All that being said, I ended up with a beautiful pedi by Indigo, who was gentle and gave expert polish. Then it was upstairs for a facial with Dawn, who again, did not make a big fuss over me but did have extremely good hands and was really thorough with her extractions. Less than 12 hours after my facial my skin already looks good. I would recommend both of these technicians - they really know what they're doing. After the facial, it was downstairs to pay, where the atmosphere was more friendly after the late-afternoon rush was gone. There was no hard sell on product and you had the option to tip on your credit card, which is great. The receptionist and I had a little giggle, I met (whom I assume was) the boss-lady and I left feeling completely satisfied. I am 90 percent sure that I'll visit them again.
