Six Happiness

I like to sit in this restaurant at one of the two tables where the take-out folks and delivery "drivers" wait. Six Happiness is mostly take-out and delivery. The inside is really cool with a modern looking wall comprised of golf ball sized grey and black stones. I noticed one larger rock has "Veritas" engraved in it. Curious, maybe the owner is a Harvard grad :-p The food is really great. Some of their entrees look almost unaturally fresh and brightly colored, but I don't suspect that is the case. My favorite dishes are the sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and any lo mein meal on the menu is great. The lo mein is some of the best I've ever had. SH has really friendly and personable staff. Also note that delivery orders are generally very fast in my experience. I'm 4 blocks away. more

Small local Chinese restaurant on upper east side. Mostly take-out, maybe a few tables. Delicious food is well prepared and nicely seasoned. Nice presentation, Good choices are chicken dumplings, general tso's chicken and roast pork lo mein. Reasonably priced with chef specialties ($9 - $13) such as crispy prawns and scallops($11), other entree items $7 - $8. more
