This place has it all. Cool Juke Box (Wurlitzer Bubble machine - playing CDs), Great decor, Classic diner menu. Lots of chrome and neon. Good old-time cups, plates, booths, everything. Well almost, everything. Here is a report from a recent dinner.
I had a chicken sandwich. Nice chicken, good spice, and decent fries. Fair cole slaw too. Bucket of soda (whoa! Big glass). My grand kids had a hot dog - they liked it. My niece had chili and a chicken Quesadilla. Also, pretty good.
Three stars? Here's why. The place was freezing - cold air came through every time the door opened and we were quite a ways away. The service was slow and incompetent. Our waiter grabbed my niece's chili before she was finished, kept trying to pull our food away and then disappeared when we wanted to pay the bill. Their Chocolate cream pie was like eating cardboard. Their hot chocolate was watery and without flavor.
I think on another night and with another server we would have been happier. But a lot of people wouldn't give them another chance.
