DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT take your dog to Dr. Waguespack! I had a Frenchie that was the runt and very small. I brought him here to get a booster shot (after he had already had two of the exact same shots with his breeder) and immediately after the shot our dog became sick which is to be expected for a day. After he was lathargic for a day I called Dr. Waguespack and said that could be expected but to just make sure he was eating. 2 days later my sweet dog passed away. I am convinced he gave our dog too much of the vaccination. You would think a doctor of 40 yrs would know how much to give such a small dog. He was perfectly healthy before the shot and 3 days after the shot died he was never the same after recieving the booster shot. Do yourself a favor and take your pet to a vet that takes time to help and explain things to you and more than that actually knows what they are doing. more

Dr. Waguespack and his caring staff saw my little dog in an emergency. He was willing to stay late just to take care of him. My family has been taking our dogs to Dr W. for over 20 years and all of our dogs lived long healthy lives. Thank you so much to the caring staff at Siegan Lane Animal clinic more

I just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH to Dr. Waguespack and his staff. He was very helpful and so nice to my cat Chance. He diagnosed her problems and FULLY EXPLAINED to us what was going on with her. Now after the meds he prescribed to her start to kick in she should be back to her old self once again, and I do mean old, she is almost 20 years old now. Once again just wanted to say thanks so much! Lea Johnson, Ron and Chance the Hyperthyroid Calico more

Great Doctor 6/1/2011

Dr. Waguespack is absolutely great. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats, and wouldn't take them anywhere else in Baton Rouge. He literally saved my cats life after she hid in the clothes dryer and it got turned on. He called with updates, went BACK to the clinic after hours just to check on her, and was very calming with us, as we were very upset. He also went the extra mile for my 10 year old maltese. He was having back trouble, and after a nightmarish visit to the emergency clinic on a weekend night, I decided to follow up with him. He saw me four more times in 2 days to "fix" the damage the emergency visit did. He noticed that my baby was overmedicated, which caused sever vomiting, and another strain from all the vomiting. He even helped me over the phone several times so I wouldn't have to keep bringing him back!! My animals aren't ever afraid of him, and he is so sweet and gentle, not to mention not as expensive as some of the bigger clinics. more

a wonderful veternarian 3/25/2011

Dr. Waguespack is an excellent vet, and I truly believe he cares more about his patients than making a fortune. I had a previous vet for my animals that picked my pocket every time I went, and often, we had to go for repeat visits. He respects the fact that his clients are not all wealthy. My cat is very old, and she is battling cancer for the second time. He operated on her when she was already old, and he took the time, both in person and by phone, to answer the multiple questions I had regarding her care. I have never been refused a last minute appointment when I needed one. I appreciate his candor, and my cat is never afraid when she sees him. He is very compassionate with her. She approaching her final days, and he has been very patient with me wishing to explore all options. I got three extra years that I may not have had because of him. While it is obvious there may not be any more we can do, I am very grateful that he helped me have as much time with my fuzzy baby as I coul more

Well worth the money! 1/6/2011

I have known Dr. Waguespack well for over 25 years. He is an excellent, caring, compassionate vet. Yes, you do get what you pay for and he's probably not the cheapest vet in town, but I would rather know that my dogs (who are my babies) are well taken care of by a vet with many years of experience, than some cheap vet with less skills and little or no compassion. I have seen him with all my dogs, including my 12 year old dachshund who has severe back problems and much pain at times, take the time with his gentle nature. They love him! And another thing, he will always take my calls if I have a question or need something. The staff is excellent. They know me and my dogs by name. I never have to say who I am when I get there. I guess it all depends on what you want, but I choose my vet like I chose my pediatrician when my child was little. Only the best will do for my dogs! more

Our Hero 5/11/2010

Dr Waguespack was great with my Beagle mix. I just moved back to Baton Rouge a week ago and my dog had a tumor on her back foot which my prior vet had suggested be removed when I got settled. He offered to do it for between 200-300 dollars. Yesterday I woke up and Gabby, my dog was favoring her foot so I call Dr Waguespacks office and took her in. He looked at it and said yes it had to come off right away. I had just moved, am on unemployment and this was about the last thing I needed, but she needed it done. I was ecstatic when I came to pick Gabby up and for the office visit, the surgery and the medications it was only $115.00. Thank you Dr. Waguespack, you're my hero and Gabbys hero. Bless you and all you do. more

I love this clinic! 8/4/2009

I got my dog neutered at this clinic. His surgery went well and soon became his old self again. I also take him there to receive his shots. He has been a healthy, happy dog and I have been a happy owner since the prices are reasonable. Pros: Great customer service and prices more

You get what you pay for... 5/18/2009

My wife and I had one of the best Labs that we could have ever asked for until we took her in to Dr. Waguespack to get spayed. Our dog was not feeling well the day after surgery which was expected and then the pup started throwing up uncontrollably on the second day home from surgery. We took her back to Dr. Waguespack and he said nothing was wrong with her and *charged* us for some more pills even though she could not hold anything down. After a couple hours from seeing Dr. Waguespack, our pup started throwing up again. So we took her to the animal hospital and she died there the next day. After the animal hospital researched why she died, they found out that she had bloood clots that started bursting into her lungs. When we confronted Dr. Waguespack he said that it was not his fault that our lab died. I mean really, 3 days after surgery and the dog suddenly begins to throwing up and ends up having bloood clots. This doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. After speaking to other vets, they said that this is always a risk but they would have took compassion on our loss and refunded our money. After this whole circumstance, we lost one of the best dogs and it cost us over $2,000. Pros: Cheap Cons: Unfriendly, Hard Hearted more

Great Doctor at Very Competitve Prices! 7/21/2007

Our dog had to have a rather extensive surgery to remove his double dew claws on his back legs. We called around for prices, as our first vet wanted close to $500. Seigan Lane Animal Clinic and Dr. Waguespack performed the surgery for less less than half of all the other prices we could find, and we couldn't have been happier. All of the staff there is so caring and knowledgable, and Dr. Waguespack was actually the first vet that we had seen in Baton Rouge with experience with our rare breed. I would highly recommend him and the boarding services at Seigan Lane Animal Clinic. more
