I frequent the Sidecar, as I live in the neighborhood. It has a great atmosphere that makes you not want to leave. When I go ""just for dinner and a drink,"" I often wind up staying until after midnight. There are some great drink specials, unique beers from local breweries, and reasonably-priced mixed drinks. \r

The menu is solid and creative, too...a step up from the usual bar menu. Although, I think they may have gotten a new chef because the food lately hasn't been up to par. Don't get me wrong, it's still better than most bar food, but recently it hasn't blown me away like it usually does.
Pros: atmosphere, friendly staff
Cons: can get crowded, new chef?
