Parent of Student at Short Stuff 6/8/2010

I have a child who has been attending Short Stuff for 1 1/2 years. My daughter and I are very happy and comfortable with this day care and that is saying a lot on my part. It is very hard to find a center that you can be completely comfortable with caring for your young child(ren) but this is the one. \r My daughter is happy, healthy and well-adjusted. Any time that I have had any questions the director and teacher(s) have been available and attentive. I have not had a single incident that has made me question anything about the center. \r If you tour the facility and meet with the director you will not leave it unhappy. Pros: Caring Staff, Happy Children more

OUTRAGED over ""Beware of Daycare"" 4/28/2010

This review of Short Stuff & Co is so completely outrageous and malicious, I felt I had to comment on it. My name is Beth. I am the director at Short Stuff. I have thought about how I wanted to respond to such a venom filled review. Something like this brings into focus how sad it is that anyone can say anything they like, true or not, in a public venue. \r \r The individual who is responsible for writing this hate-filled review, used to work here. There was a time when I wouldn't have believed she was capable of writing something like this. She hasn't given a single thought to how these accusations might have hurt ex-coworkers. Co-workers who have small children of their own! Co-workers who treated her with respect and as a friend.\r \r Short Stuff & Co is a fine school. The owners care deeply about providing quality care in a beautifully maintained and decorated building. Every classroom and play yard is monitored by closed circuit cameras to ensure the safety and well being of the children here. So, abuse like she describes can't happen! If there was even the slightest question, the tapes would be reviewed. \r \r Staff members who stay with the company are dedicated to the children and families here. They are open, honest, friendly and hard working individuals who work as a team. They have excellent work ethics and they are always willing to go the extra mile. I am proud to have the staff I have today! I invite anyone to come visit our center and see for yourself.\r \r To the young lady who posted this: You have given the impression that you know quite alot about everything and everybody, however, there's a difference between an OPINION and an ACCUSATION! What you've posted here is NOT an opinion. What you planned to do was damage the reputation of the school by making malicious and slanderous accusations about me, about the owner and the staff, and you did it thinking no one could prove who wrote it and there would be no consequences for your actions. That's not the case at all. Pros: Top notch school! Top notch staff! Awesome kids! Cons: An occasional employee who feels overly entitled & superior. more

WONDERFUL CENTER! 4/26/2010

My child currently attends Short Stuff and we think it's a wonderful center. ""Beware of Day Care"" has obviously been written by a youngster. Poor English makes it clear. How unfortunate that someone would write such nonsense. It's inaccurate information and uncalled for. The review was meant to discredit an excellent center, a few employees, the manager and the owner. I find it to be particularly distasteful. As the parent of a happy child enrolled at Short Stuff & Company, I hope anyone using reviews as a guide has the good sense to ignore kid6974's ridiculous entry. (Quite frankly, it sounds like it was written by a disgruntled employee on a foolish mission.) more

Beware of Day Care! 3/22/2010

I would like to post this strictly to warn everyone about what really goes on when you send your children to this facility. This review is my opinion. Let's start with the fact that more than a few classrooms are crowded to over the maximum capacity by state law according to child, teacher ratio (obviously to save money as to not hire another teacher/open up another classroom)! Certain ladies are wonderful, hard-working individuals who are unappreciated, under paid and do not receive any kind of health benefits or sick days.\r Next, lets move on to some individuals who get so frustrated at their jobs that they have to take at least 4-6 smoke breaks a DAY! However, this is not enough to calm their nerves, as they get so annoyed with the kids they took it upon themselves to come up with a new discipline agenda. Time out has moved from a corner by the bathroom to the actual bathroom itself...without the lights on and the door locked from the outside. Children as young as two years old are being carried into the bathroom and sometimes even the closet while the staff member shuts of the light and the kid screams and cries. I'd rather not even get into the fact one staff member has even struck a child's bottom before because he told her ""no"" too many times.\r The younger baby rooms are crowded with children who are sick and crying constantly, causing other healthy babies to either get no rest or catch nasty colds! The manager tells the ladies of this room they must hold the constantly crying babies and do other jobs at once, stressing these women out while this said manager sits in her office the majority of the time. \r This manager has no idea what childcare means, she has come in to work intoxicated before and even has drank on the job while a school day or event is going on! \r \r In conclusion, I urge people to watch whom you put in charge of your children and who is lying straight to your face and just looking for your money in the end.\r Pros: Certain workers who are dedicated! Cons: Management, The MIA owner and how they treat the workers more

Best Day Care 4/28/2008

We love this place for our 2 yr old. Beautiful facility, warm caring staff. A great mixture of play and learning. They even have a transitional room for potty training! WOW. A+ Pros: everything about it more

Love it! 11/20/2006

I'm a proud parent of two...and love that my children attend Short STuff...the staff is amazing. like a ""family"" and you get that feeling right away. It wasn't hard for us to make the decision to ""switch"" our kids to this center. We're happier here and so glad we did the move. The staff is dedicated, caring, and passionate about what they do. i feel very secure about leaving my children in their hands. they accommodated me by getting my children a spot and making them apart of their ""family"" right away. the classrooms are not overwhelmed w/ a zillion kids, the location is set back and i love that, and they have the ""BEST"" outside playground around!! Pros: playground rocks! more
