Horrible, horrible, horrible. If you have small children, or people who need to eat on a schedule (diabetics), NEVER order from here. They were almost an hour late, and we live 10 minutes away. The restaurant assured me three times that it was "on the way" and still came forty minutes after the original phone call. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 6/15/2013

My order was missing the beverages and deserts. The koobideh was almost raw, and inedible. The lamb kaboob - eh. After waiting on a Sat. night for 1-1/2 hours for the delivery, to say the least, I was very angry. The delivery person came back with the beverages. I showed him the raw koobideh. The manager called me, as well as Customer Serv.from GrubHub - the koobideh was credited to my charge card. My Persian friends and I have been eating here for over 10 years - no longer will they receive our business. more

best persian food 1/11/2009

living in sherman oaks, you have tons of choices for restaurants. last night (1-10-09), decided to dine at a local persian joint(fyi, i am not persian). never been here before. wow, nice upscale place. lo be hold, place is packed and they have belly dancers (wifey was not too thrilled) and live music. was there almost an hour and a half. great food, nice music, and did i mention, great food. this place serves huge amounts for the price; average plate is $15-$18. dont be price shocked. there is enough for leftovers. wifey ordered their house combo plate, came with rice, grilled veggies and two types of meat (ground and flat steak) and i tried their crunchy rice (tadig) with stew concoction. never have i tasted anything like this. supposedly its made with nuts and palmagranet. almost half was taken home. although not something i can afford to do regularly, def a place to consider to dine at if you crave a show with your dinner. \r btw, bill was only $45 for two, included belly dancer and live music. a bargain if you ask me. best part, i have leftover lunch for today :)\r \r only con is they did not have enough servers for a full house. but overal was extremely satisfied. Pros: excellent mid eastern food, music and belly dancer Cons: should hire more employees, but nothing to worry about. more

YUCK, 1/4/2009

I?ve been to MANY Persian restaurants but this is one of the worst foods i have seen.\r First off they have dirty greasy floor which it seems it hasn't clean for long times even though they have A health dept rating. \r Service is really bad, waiter bring wrong food and i had wait for long times.\r As far as food they are not very detail oriented, shish kabob was tough and old. It was too hard to cut meat. It supposes to be Filet mignon. Part of shish kabob was burnt, it is not good sign when chef burns food and give it customer. The waitresses were not apologetic about the mistakes\r MY family tried different dish, it was eck YUCK.\r Rice was not cooked properly, salad was very bad and old.\r They brought the check before we even asked for it, which pretty meant that we had to leave. Do not go there, if you would like FUN. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Pros: DID NOT GET SICK, Cons: Bad Service and horrible food more

Best middle-eastern food I've had barring my mom's cooking! 11/25/2006

Shiraz makes simply the best Persian/middle-eastern food I've eaten outside of home. The chicken Barg kebab and beef Koubideh were excellent, with large portions of high quality basmati rice. We were also served a complimentary dish of radishes when we arrived, and strawberries after our entrees which was a nice added extra. The service was good, too - we weren't held up waiting for our order to be taken, or our food, or our check. I'd highly reccomend this restaurant to anyone who wants authentic middle eastern or Persian cuisine, and despite looking a little more formal initially, they were very child-friendly. Wonderful! Pros: great value, child-friendly, decent service, great food Cons: Street parking, more

Just OK 3/5/2006

Regular safeway pita bread, microwaved. Hummus was nothing special. My lamb was overmarinated, though eatable. The rice was awesome. My 2 friends said the food was ok, but not great. The rose ice cream was weird. The place itself is nice, but feels like a ballroom. The server was cool, though. Pros: Service Cons: Food, Spacous more

Service Skills Needed 4/1/2005

The host made me sit in the front table for 2 even though I asked if I could be seated farther back and on a bigger table. The host said those tables are reserved for four. Many couples came in after me and sat on those bigger tables. People who came in after me had their orders taken first. I had to ask a bus boy to call the waiter to take my order. They even charged me extra and added a service charge to the bill even though the menu specified that a fee would be added to a party of 6 or more. Trying to justify the extra charges, he then told me his computer was the same for 10 years. They gave far better service to regulars, not trying to impress first timers like me. Cold food, bad service. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Cold Food, Rude Host, Bad Service more
