Its great that Shi is nestled amongst the high rise building and chic, well developed waterfront. The cobblestone walk up down centre blvd, most definetely invokes the essence of the meatpacking district ...obv a plus for a place in queens.
And to echo everyone the decor and vibe of Shi is quite chic and the great outdoor section is perched just away from greenspaces and the river.
My biggest positive comes from their bar (figures), the bar staff and their great take on classic drinks while adding common southeast asian flavors (Nice ginger mojitos and lychee drinks).
Im 80% sold on their food, which is postive, they have high quality ingredients making very average dishes taste better. many dishes were underwhelming, including sushi, which i believe the waiter may have waited to long to deliver to us.
Its so worth going if you never have, then once your there just decide if your intrigued. i think most will be its a nice spot
