Established in 1968, the Shelton's Primary Education Center, also known as S.P.E.C., is a nonprofit educational institution that offers a range of academic and recreational programs for students up to grade five. It provides classes in reading, language arts, vocabulary, spelling and math. The Shelton's Primary Education Center also provides instruction in science, music, art, foreign languages and social studies. Its preschool curriculum focuses on letter, number, color and shape recognition, as well as the development of social, academic and listening skills. The institution works to meet the educational, recreational and social interaction needs of students. It additionally features a parent-teacher association that sponsors various school programs and conducts regular meetings. The Shelton's Primary Education Center is located in Berkeley, Calif.
