I do not recommend Sheldon's Nursery.\r
\r
I recently moved and thought I would support the local nursery. I purchased a large vine, but it arrived with the main stake broken. The driver told me it collapsed during delivery and bent hard over at the bottom trunk. I needed something with support. I also did not want to worry about the trunk being cracked (see previous customer feedback on lack of return policy). When I returned to the nursery for reimbursement and explained my concerns to the cashier, she called the owner for approval but was laughing and shook her head, as if I was doing something wrong. I told her I did not find anything funny about the situation. She was out of line and did not apologize.\r

Several days later I visited the nursery and spoke to the owners, to see if perhaps they could put in a new stake, keep it for a while, and if the plant did alright I would be happy to buy it in the spring.\r
\r
The response was less that I expected. I was told that putting in a new stake would cause the roots to grow (not sure about that given the possibility of the root being damaged by a large stake), and that the plant would most likely be sold before that. They were not interested in making me happy regardless of the high cost of the plant and my willingness to work with them.\r

I passed on that I was sorry that this could not be worked out. Prior to leaving I also politely mentioned the rude employee experience as I thought they should know. I was then told ""Get out"", and ""never come back again"", and was also threatened that ""I should have been charged a restocking fee!"" Imagine being charged for something that is not your fault. How ridiculous. I have shopped at Mesquite Nursery, Loews and Home Depot for years, and this would never happen to me there. So much for supporting this small business. \r
