Shari's Cafe and Pies

Shari's isn't anything extraordinary. They are a typical family/diner type restaurant, but are higher priced than many of the same kinds of restaurants. Not only are the prices higher, you seem to get less food. But there are a couple of good things about Shari's. They are open 24 hours a day, so if you're out with your friends and it's 2am and Shari's is closer than one of the other 24 hour restaurants, you might as well eat there. They also have tasty desserts. I recommend the cheesecake sundae. It's chunks of their cheesecake layered with strawberries, ice cream, and whipped cream. It's one of my favorite desserts. But other than that, there are many similar but better restaurants in Boise you can go to. more

Sharis is a restaurant that serves your basic food (breakfast stuff, burgers, salads, etc). They are also open 24 hours a day, which is nice if you are a late night eater such as myself. My problem with them is they seem to charge more than other places like it. I always considered it to be along the line of Denny’s/JB’s but their prices are more along the lines of a Red Robin or Chillis. My problem with that is they don’t seem to give you a lot of food for your money. For an $8 salad I expect it to be enough to fill me up, instead it was a dinky little thing. I can get a gigantic one at Applebee’s for that price! Another problem is one time I went they must of run out of shake/sundae glasses or something so they put it in a normal soda sized cup, which of course is much smaller than a shake/ sundae glass. It’s a shame I was paying full price for about half the item. So while the food is good I much rather go to Denny’s for my late night eatings. more

Shari’s is your typical family restaurant. The kids meals have a pretty wide variety of choices. I do not like how they don’t include a drink, but for the prices they charge it probably works out fairly even. You shouldn’t have to wait for a table, which can be a plus when dining with children. They do have very yummy pies, especially the chocolate & peanut butter. more
