Editorial review from Citysearch 10/19/2013

I have known this family and bought jewelry from Gary for 30 + years, When buying my wedding ring, he was so attentive in showing us loose diamonds and the clarity which has been mentioned many times by others. I picked out a setting and we were prepared to leave and pick it all up sized whenever. Instead we went across the parking lot and had lunch and picked it up by 4:00 PM. In addition, Shannon's has cleaned them any time I am in there and also bought old gold from us. They are honest and reputable people and the only jewelers I would trust. By the way, Gary is not a salesman - he is a gemologist and believes in his product. You can find many salesmen at a chain store. more

dont use these people - use j & w repair instead 12/31/2011

left an invisible mounted bleck diamond earring to be repaired. 5 months ( and many excuses) later I picked up my unrepaired earring. Pros: null Cons: null more

never use these people - use j & w repair instead 12/31/2011

l Ieft an invisible mounted black diamond earring to be repaired. they kept telling me they were trying to find someone to notch a diamond. After 5 months, they returned my earring unrepaired. I took it to another jeweler and learnied they had replaced a black diamond with an onyx. when I accused them of this, they said "that might have happened" and gave me a store credit. I believe they knew they replaced my stone with an onyx and hoped I wouldn't notice. How could this be an accident??? Pros: null Cons: null more

Straight-forward Honest People 4/11/2011

I went there to sell my diamond ring. I was very happy at the way I was treated. One of the owners, Gary I believe, gave me soo many options. I had no idea that i had the alternatives that he offered. I felt like he really wanted what was in my best interest. While i was there, i did notice that the had really nice jewelry too. Of course. They had stuff there that I hadnt seen at other stores before. Next time Im on the market to purchase, I will stop there first. more

Clearly Not Designers!!! 10/18/2010

Where do I begin?? First of all, I had a wedding set made by Shannon's w/ my own gold & diamonds in 2007. The ring set was supposed to look very similar to my friend's wedding set, which they also designed & made. Last summer I saw my friend (1st time since my wedding) and we compared our rings and discovered that they did not look very similar at all. This upset me since I had specifically asked for my rings to look like hers!! After seeing my friend's ring next to mine I could clearly see the differences and it all made sense as to why I had been so unhappy with my ring. I went back to Shannon's with my friend and spoke with one of the owners about my findings. I pointed out that my set looked nothing like my friend's & I wanted to know how this could have happened since my friend was there when we first discussed making my ring to look like hers in the first place!! I also noted that somehow they managed to make the ring entirely too big! Nearly a whole size too big! How d more

**Designing is Not their Specialty** 10/17/2010

How does that even happen?? This time I suggested that they take pics of my friend's ring for future use and asked what it would take to re-make my set to look more like my friends. They said they would not charge me any labor fees and that they needed to trade out all of my diamonds (minus the center) to accomplish this, which would cost $1500.00. That seemed a bit expensive since I felt this was mainly their mistake. A Mistake that could have been avoided had they communicated w/ me better. I reluctantly agreed because I thought I would finally be getting the ring I really wanted. That was not the case...before going any further both owners requested that my friend come back to the store Again so they could view her ring once more before re-making mine. Seriously? This was their "Original" design that they had created, plus had already taken pics of last time! And now they want to look at it again for a 3rd Time!! My friend is pretty irritated at this since she is extremely busy and drives from Magnolia each time to do this!! How Many Times Do You Need To See YOUR OWN DESIGN to proceed with an almost near replica of it??? Now, I had even begun to lose confidence in their ability to do this. After discussing the new design once again with the owners, I wait for the wax to arrive for approval. After more time goes by I go to view the wax and discover yet again that it is WRONG!! I stood there w/ my mother and one owner for over an hour trying to figure out what all is missing, inaccurate or incorrect. Very Ridiculous & Frustrating!! After I scrutinized over the pics of my friend's ring & pointed out all of the changes that needed to be made, the owner exclaims to me " I think we are Finally on the same page!!" Holy Moly!! Really?? It suddenly dawns on me at this moment that they, (The Owners), are NOT DESIGNERS!! They are merely just Salesmen behind a counter with only knowledge of diamonds and metals!! That's It...A truly talented designer would not have had a problem with this at all. It Amazed me that they could not successfully re-create (their) design w/ only minor changes to it. B/c this appeared to be too big a challenge, I canceled the plans to change the design of my ring & asked them to simply size it down for me instead. They responded by telling me that it would take them an additional week and it would be $135.00 to size it!! They have had my rings since July 2010 and it is almost November when I told them NO THANK YOU! I WILL COME AND PICK IT UP AS IS...The incorrect size of my ring was clearly not my fault & they should have sized it for me at no charge. For anyone wanting to design jewelry, I highly Do Not Recommend going to Shannon's since the owner's are most definitely not equipped to do so. Maybe, if they had their Jewelers on the sales floor to help with the designing process, it would probably clear up A Lot of Confusion, Frustration, & Incompetency when trying to create or re-create a design more

Great for repairs 3/16/2010

I would definitely return! My wedding ring cracked, obviously the jewler I bought it from didn't do a very good job. At Shannon's they repaired my ring, at a very low cost, and it looks beautiful. more

Shannon Fine Jewelry 3/27/2009

Shannon's is a wonderful jewelry store. I don't trust my jewelry to\r just any store, but I trust Shannon's. They came highly recommended to me by a high end jeweler in the Woodlands when I wanted some custom pieces in gold Texas Rings made and a \r necklace to match for my daughter. They also made a big gold bass and hummingbird necklace for our parents 50th anniversary. The people who work there are always courteous and very helpful. I would recommend them to anybody more

Okay Jewelry Store 12/5/2005

Shannons offers nice service and a limited selection of jewelry to choose from, being a small jeweler. They are VERY strict with their return policy and offer no refunds. If your husband happens to pick out an item too expensive or something you don't care for, you're out of luck. The jewelry is of high quality and they do have a great repair service on site. more
